Hi Ellis,
I am a 62 year old female taking bio-identical estrogen, progesterone,
and testosterone by prescription from a compounding pharmacy. I read
in a previous message that estrogen decreases the effectiveness of the
HGH.
I take my estrogen in a cream form days 1 thru 25 each month. I take
testosterone days 1 thru 25 as well. I take progesterone days 11 thru
25. Do I need to adjust my HGH? I take 1 iu HGH each morning.
Thanks, - Judy
Ellis: Hello Judy... I am not a woman, so I am not saying this from
my own experience. Many women have written to say that growth
hormone does not cause their IGF-1 to go UP as much as the same dose
on men... and we are guessing that it is because they have more
estrogen than men... but they still get good physical results...
And I am also guessing that estrogen interferes with growth hormone,
because once girls start to menstruate, their rate of growth slows
down. In any case... suppose that it is true that estrogen
blocks the action of growth hormone... In that case, if you want to
get the most "bang for the buck" out of using HGH, then use it when
your estrogen levels are UP... In the case of a woman who is about
age 30, estrogen is UP the first 12 days of your cycle... and
then you ovulate, and estrogen goes DOWN and progesterone goes
UP about day 16 to 28...
So... I think you should try to imitate that formula with your
estrogen and progesterone. And "according to Ellis" you might
try to take most of your growth hormone when your estrogen is
low. So... I came up with this plan:
from day 1 to 12, take 1/2 dose of growth hormone...
from day 13 to 16, take 1 dose of growth hormone...
from day 17 to 28, take 1 1/2 dose of growth hormone...
Got it? You take less when you have high estrogen, and
you take what you didn't take before on the days that you
have high progesterone.
I hope this helps. - Ellis
