Hello Ellis,
Richard: I'm 53 years old and started getting serious about my health
at the start of this year. I began jogging and weight training
regularly in January, started taking 200 mg/week of testosterone
cypionate in May, and 1 iu/day HGH in July.
Ellis: If you are taking testosterone, you also have to be
taking Arimidex, to block side effects caused by testosterone
converting to estrogen.
Richard: Since the first of the year, I've gained 14 lbs of muscle,
lost 10 lbs of fat, and gotten my body fat down to about 11%.
Ellis: Excellent! Congratulations!
Richard: I'm planning to begin a serious 2 month bodybuilding push
to gain another 10 lbs of muscle and get my fat down to 8%. During
this time, I'm planning to increase my testosterone to 600 mg/week and
spend substantially more time exercising.
My question is this: what incremental value would I experience by
increasing my HGH dosage to 2 iu/day for the next two months? I
can't really afford to spend the extra $350/month that this costs
on a permanent basis, but I'd be willing to do it for the next
couple months if I thought it would help me attain my fitness goals.
Ellis: I don't know how tall you are and how much you weigh, but...
guessing that you are about 5'10 to 6'0" tall, I think 2 iu of
growth hormone is closer to your correct dose than 1 iu.
Richard: After this big push, I plan to cut the testosterone back
to the 200 mg/week maintenance level my physician has prescribed
and continue to exercise on my regular schedule to maintain the
gains I make in the next two months.
Does this sound like a sensible program to you? - Rick
Ellis: Yes, it sounds sensible... but you didn't mention that
you are taking Arimidex, and you have to take Arimidex if you
are going to take 600 mgs of testosterone, or else for sure you
are going to start wearing a brassiere. So... don't take any
more testosterone until you get some Arimidex, it is very
important that you do this.
Good luck, and keep us informed. Three stars for this post,
I hope you find it interesting and informative. - Ellis
