will send a special notice informing everyone about the changes and why they

***1.  Use good "netiquette" in your posting. If you haven't run across this

have been online for a long time, you'll find that page has good tips and is
interesting.

If you want a humorous look at exactly what not to do in posting to the

"Flaming" -- personal attacks, abusive, vulgar or inappropriate language,
demeaning comments, etc. -- directed toward list members, or the founders,
teachers, lineages or philosophies of various Reiki and other energy work
systems is never permitted. Please be polite, respectful and professional in
your posts to this list.

***2. Please stay on-topic for the purpose of this group -- workshops,
conferences, classes and events of interest to beginners and advanced Reiki
people and other energy work professionals.  If you offer courses in astrology,
or hypnosis, or modern dance, or whatever, then feel free to mention that in
your posts -- **as long as your post talks about ENERGY WORK courses that you
offer or clearly says why your non-energy work classes or events would be of
direct interest to Reiki and other energy workers.  Please remember that folks
are here primarily for energy work events and make certain that you are not
abusing their attention to your posts for general advertising that is not
related to our subject matter.

There are many, many groups at yahoogroups and elsewhere that focus on distant
healing, Reiki for world peace, distant attunements, state and national
legislation about the practice of Reiki, general chat about Reiki and healing,
etc., etc.  These are all very important topics, and very good things to be
involved in.  I belong to many of these groups myself.  However, there is no
other group that specifically focuses on helping people locate residential
workshops, conferences classes and other events.  Please avoid the temptation,
however worthy the cause, to try to devote entire posts to these other subjects
that have many groups devoted to them already and stick with our main purpose.

Of course, if you are offering a workshop on Reiki for world peace, legislation
info or business techniques for Reiki professionals, or something similar, then
that is obviously exactly what the members of this group want to hear about.  If
you are ever in doubt about whether to post a message to this group on a subject
that is near and dear to your heart or weighing on your mind, feel free to email
me privately at reikiquestions@... and ask for an opinion.  If it isn't
appropriate for posting here, I might be able to direct you to another group or
forum where you would get a better response.

***3.  Please  remember that we are here to help each other, so please try to
answer questions or offer advice about specific workshops, classes, seminars or
events when it would be helpful.

***4.   Please remember that the main focus of this group is on *residential*
workshops, classes, seminars and conferences, and on distance education NOT
simply on distance attunements.  There are many other places discussing
attunements.  We specialize in training and experience that comes either after
attunement or simulateous with it.  This is the only yahoogroups that focuses on
training in Reiki and other energy work.  Posts that are only concerned with
requests for attunements and not with training are off-topic and will not be
approved.

***5.  Please  do NOT post prices or costs for training in your messages to the
group.  Doing so will only lead to "price wars" and a focus on cost rather than
value.  Posts with price information in them will not be approved -- please
reserve price information for your website listings, and place a link to the
information in your post to the group. The same is true for saying that you
offer free training. Please keep your posts free of all price information.

***6.  On the other hand, please remember that this is an international list,
with members in many countries. It is VERY important that you remember to
include where a workshop or event is being held, when it will happen, and
contact information so that people can get in touch with you. You can post
either a web page link, or an email address, in your listing.

***7. Please remember that inclusion of a teacher on this discussion list
through a direct post, or in the Links, Calendar or Database sections, should
not be taken as an endorsement of their credentials, nor as a guarantee of their
qualifications to teach and certify. There is simply no way that I can check
everyone out with a list as large as this one has become. As with all things, if
you are seeking certification for professional practice or in order to teach,
ask questions and investigate before signing up for any course.

Some energy work systems, such as Karuna Reiki, Tera Mai, Lightarian, Australian
Sekhem, and others are trademarked in various countries and may only be taught
by licensed or authorized teachers -- who are often listed on the websites of
those groups. When in doubt, ask about credentials and check with the
authorizing body.

Other than those rules, please pay attention to these message basics:

If you mix up the two addresses, it won't be a major tragedy and I will probably
catch it and redirect the email appropriately.  However, please try to keep the
two addresses straight for your own peace of mind and to avoid embarassment.

Also -- and this is *very* important -- if you are set to the "digest" option
please make sure that your email software does NOT quote the entire message you
are replying to by turning this feature off in your email options.  If you need
help on this, email me and I'll be happy to explain it to you.  If you quote the
digest message, it will copy the *entire* digest of 20 to 25 messages back into
your reply and I will "bounce" the message back to you asking that you correct
it.

Another message reply basic:  Remember not to simply hit the reply button on
your email program if you want to ask for further information about a workshop. 
If you do that, your note will go to over 1,400 people automatically.  Click on
the email address of the person who posted the workshop to the list, and you
will send a private note just to them.  This is much more likely to quickly get
you the information that you need.  This is an international list, and please
remember that internet access is paid for by the minute in some countries so
message download time can be costly.  Please keep private messages off the
general list out of courtesy to others.

Also, please make certain that you have added mail from this group to your "no
spam" list in your email software or at the web email service you use or you
won't receive messages. If messages are rejected by your email address, the
yahoogroups program will "notice" it and you will be unsubscribed from the list.

Reiki is available to all.
Reiki is not restricted in the way that Spiritual Gifts are given.
A first Level Attunement allows the individual to effect a removal of
blockages from their energy paths and as a by-product produce similar
results on another person.
There are many benefits with Reiki.
These benefits promote a healthy holistic approach, the ability to
remove energy
blockages such as fear, anger, shame, anxiety, limiting beliefs and
the effects of environmental stress.
A Reiki Practitioner channels Universal Life Force Energy. This is
achieved by lifting the vibration level of that persons Chakras and
increasing the  levels of consciousness.
The effect of that higher consciousness is the ability to remove the
negative vibrations, this is achieved because the higher conscious
level opens the Chakras and allows energy, that `electric' flow,
which may be felt as heat or cold but, no practitioner can really
claim to be a healer, that claim is restricted to those who by
spiritual gifts have the gift of healing and even then there is a
great difference, whereas with the Reiki practitioner the 'Electric'
energy is entering through their Crown and out through the client,
the Spiritual Healer has to remove from the client the negative and
then remove it from themselves.
Many mix the meanings and understandings.
In reality, Reiki is an intervention by God into the way that man
works to lift their conscious levels.

About the class

Through four initiations, given throughout the weekend, the
student's ability to transfer healing energy through her/his hands
would be activated.  Through this process, her/his individual energy
will be attuned to the Source of Universal Energy for healing and

About the teacher

Your instructor for this class will be Paula Terrero, Reiki Master
in the Usui System of Natural Healing.  Born in the Dominican
Republic, Paula has been practicing Reiki since 1986 and was
initiated as a Master in 1993.  Since then, she has been teaching
continuously in New York City, Albuquerque, New Mexico and the
Dominican Republic.   She has worked actively in the introduction of
this healing art in the African American and Latino communities of
New York City. Her focus is in the empowerment of people by helping
them to rediscover the power to heal innate in all of us.  She
believes Reiki is a beautiful, powerful and easy way to contact and
activate that power.


Paula teaches all three levels of Reiki and conducts Reiki classes
in Spanish upon request.

Dear All,
Tadao Yamaguchi, son of Chiyoko Yamaguchi (a master student of Dr.
Hayashi), will be teaching again in the UK in Spring '05. Dates are
currently being finalised.
Tadao sensei will be teaching Shoden and Okuden levels together over
5 days. This training is identical to that undertaken by his mother
with Dr. Hayashi. As a system it has been named 'Jikiden Reiki'.
As a personal note; I was fortunate to take this training with Tadao
sensei and his mother whilst she was still alive. It is
mindblowingly beautiful. I travelled a lot to Kyoto to complete
training up to Shihan (full teacher) level and have only
appreciation and admiration for the quality of the information and
the manner in which it has been taught to me. If you're serious
about exploring the roots of Reiki this is a wonderful opportunity
to expand your knowledge (without going to Kyoto, as lovely as it
is!) Classes will be restricted to 12 people and the training is
likely to take place in Canterbury, Cornwall, Sheffield and
Edinburgh. The cost for the five day course is £400.
With numbers this limited, if you want to reserve a place in advance
please contact me ; sandy@...   and of course I'll be
glad to answer any questions you have. (...yes it is different from
western training through the Takata lineage).
I also offer classes in Shoden and Okuden here in Canterbury, but
understand that many people will want to learn with Tadao sensei.
His lifelong experience of Reiki (since before he was born, his mum
Reiki'd him while she was pregnant) it quite unique. But I can of
course offer ongoing support to students here in the UK.

I'm going to pass along some of the information that I've received on
Cleve's current condition.

First, let me say that he is healing very rapidly -- so rapidly that
the medical staff is amazed.  The effect on him has been noticeable
not only to him, but also to trained professionals who would have no
reason to believe this kind of "non-traditional" treatment would have
any effect at all.

Here is an edited version of part of a note I received today.  My
comments are in parentheses:

"I just spoke to Cleve -- good news.  He did not need ______
(reference to a surgical procedure), only _______ (reference to
something fairly minor).  The ___________ is bruised but not
fractured. Other than nausea from the IV drip, he is
doing "spectacularly" according to the medical staff.  He has been
asking everyone their sun signs and giving them a little amused
readings according to what he knows about Sun-sign astrology.  (He
was a friend of Linda Goodman)  In a couple days he will be out of
there!  (The initial assessment of injuries indicated surgery
followed by prolonged hospitalization).  He sounds exactly like
himself. ... His fall of early friday morning is now history and he
is coming back to himself and the planet.

"... The medical staff is impressed.  No one there can believe he is
80 years old.  He is responding very well, and determined to be home
with his cats a.s.a.p."

I have some particular questions that I would appreciate *private*
answers to at reikiwill@... so that the information isn't
coming through the whole list.

1.  How many of you were sending energy back to the time of the
accident?

2.  How many people participated in sending energy to Cleve at some
point since the information was posted.

3.  Do you have any other impressions that you would like to report --
I am passing all of this information along to Cleve and I cannot tell
you how interested he is.

Remember, this was his first real experience with distance healing
being directed toward him.  I think we can say that it was an
unqualified success.  The placebo effect can be ruled out in terms of
the medical staff reactions and the objective medical tests.

For those of you who have asked, Cleve is hospitalized in
California.  I think it would also be useful at this point, if some
of you have experience with Reiki and animals, to send some energy to
his cats.  Cleve will appreciate that as well, since he is worrying
quite a bit about them. *gr*

Again, I want to emphasize that if your impressions did not match up
with what I am reporting -- first off, you have an incomplete report
here.  The initial assessment of his condition was pretty serious,
and it turns out to be as minor as something like this can be in a
person his age.  Second, Cleve was interested in testing perception
going the opposite way than we usually think of it going in distant
healing -- from the "patient" to the "healer," to use simple but
inaccurate terms.  It is part of his ongoing work with what he calls
primary perception.

Thank you for all of the assistance, and your willingness to
participate in this experiment beyond the simple request for much-
needed healing.

in Cleve's ongoing work in primary perception.
