Hello,
This is the automatic monthly post of the ReikiWorkshops Group
Etiquette and Rules. If you have already read this post, there is no
need to read it again unless you want to ;-> If anything changes in
it, I'll announce it to the group so if you haven't heard anything
new, then nothing has changed.
Since the rules are simple and the etiquette is common sense for the
most part, I don't expect that things *will* change a lot.
First, and most important, please remember that inclusion of a teacher
on this elist through a direct post, or in the Links, Calendar or Database,
should not be taken as an endorsement of their credentials, nor as a
guarantee of their qualifications to teach. There is simply no way that I
can check everyone out with a list as large as this one has become. As with
all things, if you are seeking certification for professional practice or
in order to teach, ask questions and investigate before signing up for
any course. Some energy work systems, such as Karuna Reiki, Tera Mai,
Lightarian, Australian Sekhem, and others are trademarked in various
countries and may only be taught by licensed teachers -- who are often
listed on the websites of those groups. When in doubt, ask about credentials
and check with the authorizing body.
Next, as to etiquette, please remember to be courteous and
professional in your posts on this group. One of the advantages of
using the internet is the immediacy of communication. That is also
one of the disadvantages, since people sometimes post quickly
something that they would not have said if they had given the matter
a bit more thought. A good guide to online etiquette, called
"netiquette" by folks who spend a good deal of time on groups like
this, can be found at www.learnthenet.com/english/html/09netiqt.htm
It is short and to-the-point, and covers the basics well. A more
thorough site, if you want to go into the subject more in-depth, can
be found at either http://www.onlinenetiquette.com/ or at
http://www.onlinenetiquette.com/shallwestart.html And if you want to
learn exactly what *not* to do, in a very funny way, then check Dear
Emily Postnews at http://www.templetons.com/brad/emily.html Even
experienced internet users will get a chuckle out of that site.
(If you are a relative beginner to the internet, and wonder about
some of the buzz words and strange terminology we use here, a good
site to check out is http://netforbeginners.about.com/index.htm You
can find the answer to a lot of basic questions there quickly.)
And speaking of strange terminology, I always get letters from new
subscribers asking what "flaming" means in the general rules sent out
when signing up for this group. Flaming is an internet community
term for abusive, inflammatory, irrational and offensive comments
made in a public post about another member of the group or someone or
something being discussed in the group. In other words, it is a
personal attack, and an invitation to a fight.
Some people, unfortunately, seem to delight in flaming others in the
relative anonymity of internet discussions. Others like to provoke
outbreaks of flaming, called "flame wars," by posting deliberately
provocative statements that will start the flame ball rolling. Some
people join discussion groups for the sole reason of provoking such
flame wars. The internet term for these people are "trolls," and
"trolling" describes their behavior in going from group to group
trying to be destructive. The presence of trolls (and spammers --
advertisers posing offtopic and often pornographic material to groups
in hopes of making money) is the main reason that all new members of
this group are "moderated" at first. This means that all new members
posts are seen by me, the group owner and moderator, before they are
emailed out to the group. It delays things by a few minutes to a few
hours, depending on my schedule, but it also makes group life a lot
more peaceful and pleasant in the long run. A good reference on
flaming is http://www.advicemeant.com/flame/10define.shtml
which has even more amusing internet definitions and is a fun read.
Another basic rule for the group: If you want to contact me
privately, email me at reikiworkshops@... To send a message
to the entire list, email me at reikiworkshops@yahoogroups.com If
you mix up the two addresses, it won't be a major tragedy and I will
probably catch it and redirectthe email appropriately. However,
please try to keep the two addresses straight for your own peace of
mind.
Also -- and this is *very* important -- if you are set to the
"digest" option please make sure that your email software does NOT
quote the entire message you are replying to by turning this feature
off in your email options. If you need help on this, email me and
I'll be happy to explain it to you. If you quote the digest message,
it will copy the *entire* digest of 20 to 25 messages back into your
reply which is quite annoying to those reading the list.
Another message reply basic: Remember not to simply hit the reply
button on your email program if you want to ask for further
information about a workshop. If you do that, your note will go to
over 1,200 people automatically. Click on the email address of
the person who posted the workshop to the list, and you will send a
private note just to them. This is much more likely to quickly get
you the information that you need. This is an international list,
and please remember that internet access if paid for by the minute in
many countries so message download time can be costly. Please try to
keep private messages off the general list out of courtesy to others.
I said that the rules of the group are simple, and they are.
First, use good netiquette in all of your posts.
Second, remember that we are here to help each other, so please try
to answer questions or offer advice when it would be helpful.
Third, please try to stay on-topic for the purpose of this group --
workshops, conferences, classes and events of interest to beginners
and advanced Reiki people and other energy work professionals. If
you offer courses in astrology, or hypnosis, or modern dance, or
whatever, in addition to energy work courses, then feel free to make
mention of that in your posts -- in addition to courses or workshops
in energy work that you offer. Please remember that folks are here
primarily for energy work events and make certain that you are not
abusing their attention to your posts for general advertising that is
not related to our subject matter.
(Along these lines, you might consider this rule 3a: There are many,
many groups at yahoogroups and elsewhere that focus on distant
healing, Reiki for world peace, distant attunements, state and
national legislation about the practice of Reiki, general chat about
Reiki and healing, etc., etc. These are all very important topics,
and very good things to be involved in. However, there is, as far as
I know, no other group that specifically focuses on helping people
locate residential workshops, conferences and other events. Please
avoid the temptation, however worthy the cause, to try to devote
entire posts to these other subjects that have many groups devoted to
them already and stick with our main purpose. Of course, if you are
offering a workshop on Reiki for world peace, legislation info or
business techniques for Reiki professionals, or something similar,
then that is obviously exactly what the members of this group want to
hear about. If you are ever in doubt about whether to post a message
to this group on a subject that is near and dear to your heart or
weighing on your mind, feel free to email me privately at
reikiworkshops@... and ask for an opinion. If it isn't
appropriate for posting here, I might be able to direct you to
another group or forum where you would get a better response.)
We also have a lot of interesting discussions on subjects of interest
to teachers and students of energy work -- symbol use, specifics of how
to deal with different diseases or conditions, the nature of energy,
lineage and history, and other related topics. If you have a question,
or have something that has come up in one of your classes that you think
would benefit others, feel free to post it.
Fourth, remember that the main focus of this group is on residential
workshops, classes (residential and distance) and conferences rather
than distance attunements. That is not to say that we prohibit
posting non-residential attunement information, it is just that there
are many other places discussing that subject and we specialize in
training and experience that comes after attunement or simulateous
with it. This is one of the only yahoogroups that that focuses on
Reiki and other energy work training. Personally, I have had Reiki
attunements in both a traditional residential session, and I have
also had distance attunements. I believe that both were "real"
attunements, in that I think that something definitely happened as a
result of them. I also personally believe that there was a
difference in the nature of the attunements. In terms of Reiki
training, however, I would not personally have wanted to have had my
*first* Reiki training by correspondence, because I think that I
learned better in a residential workshop. After knowing basic Reiki
through ART or IIIa or the equivalent however, I think that the
correspondence training that I have taken was very good and very
helpful to me in my practice. I mention my own personal beliefs and
prejudices on this subject here simply to let you know that the
emphasis on residential training in creating this group comes more
from what I saw as a need for a group focus than because of any
belief that correspondence and distance training are less important
or of less value. Hopefully, we can respect each others opinions on
this subject and not get into discussions of the relative merits of
these kinds of training, as that would be off-topic. Please do try
to remember to keep away from posts that are only concerned with
attunements and not with training.
Fifth, please do NOT post prices or costs for training to the group.
Doing so will only lead to "price wars" and a focus on cost rather
than value. Posts with price information in them will not be
permitted -- please reserve that for your website listings, and place
a link to the information in your group post. This also applies to posts
that indicate free training, or are philosophical discourses on free
reiki versus charging for services. Other lists deal with that issue.
Please cooperate in keeping the focus of this list on education and
training and reserve those discussions for your own website or elsewhere.
That is pretty much all there is to it. (I said it was simple ;-> )
The same rules and guidelines that apply to posts made to the whole
group apply to items posted to the Calendar, the Links section, and
the Teachers Database. You can find all of those sections at our
home page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/reikiworkshops in the menu
at the left hand side of the page. If you have a web page of your
own, feel free to put a link to the group up to let others know about
us. You can also get a subscription boxto help promote the group, at

Thanks for reading through this document, and please remember that I
am always available to answer questions by email. I hope that you
find membership in ReikiWorkshops to be a rewarding and enriching
experience.

HOW TO CHANGE YOUR LIST EMAIL OPTIONS TO RECEIVE LESS EMAIL
I receive at least two or three unsubs from this group daily from
people who say that they like the group, but are receiving too many
email messages. I'd like to remind everyone who many not be familiar
with the way yahoogroups work that the number of email messages you
receive is entirely up to you.
When you join the group by email, you are automatically set to
receive every message posted to the list as an individual email
message. As the group is now the fifth largest yahoogroups Reiki
group, with over 650 members (and growing daily), that can lead to a
large number of emails coming to you every day. You can stop this
from happening in several ways, and still have access to all of the
messages any time you want to search through them, along with the
Calendar, Teachers Database, and Links directory.
First, at the bottom of every messsage sent out by this group is a
signature block that contains full information on resetting your
email preferences by simply sending one email to the yahoo list
manager. Here is how it works:
If you want to receive only a single email message per day
containing a "digest" of all of the messages posted to the list
that day, send a blank email message to this address:
ReikiWorkshops-digest@yahoogroups.com
(On some days when a lot of things are posted to the list, or
as we continue to grow, you might receive two email digests per
day. Each digest contains a maximum of twenty or so messages.)
If you are on digest setting, *please* remember to set your email
program so that it does *not* quote the message you are replying to.
Otherwise, you will copy the entire digest -- all twenty odd messages
-- back to the list with your reply. If that happens, the message
will be sent back to you with the request that you edit out the extra
material. (You might also want to copy the message subject line of
the message you are replying to into your subject line, and add "Re:"
at the beginning. Otherwise, your subject will read something like
"Re: [ReikiWorkshops] Digest No. 15" which is not very informative
and may not get noticed by the person you are writing to.
If you would like to receive no email at all from the group, but
still be able to view the ReikiWorkshops Calendar, the Teachers
Database, the Links directory and search messages posted to the list
for events close to you or workshops on a particular subject or by a
particular teacher -- things that are only available to group members
-- then you can change your email setting to "No Email."
"No Email" means exactly what it says. You will receive no email
messages at all from the group, but will still be able to view
everything you wish to see through the group homepage at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/reikiworkshops To set yourself to "No
Email," send a blank email message to:
ReikiWorkshops-nomail@yahoogroups.com
As a group member, you can still see all of the messages posted, and
reply to any of them via the website by clicking "Post" while you
have a message up in your browser.
If you ever decide that you prefer receiving all messages as
individual emails, you can re-set yourself to that setting by sending
a blank email to:
ReikiWorkshops-normal@yahoogroups.com
This information on how to reset your email settings is permanently
linked on the ReikiWorkshops home page just above where the most
recent group messages start to be displayed. You can also reset your
group preferences via a web form that is linked on the home page at
the top of the page at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/reikiworkshops
Look at the purple bar that has the group title "Reiki Workshops and
Classes." At the right side of that bar, there is a link called
"Edit My Membership." Clicking on that link will take you to a web
form that allows you to reset your email preferences, among other
things.
If anyone has any questions about this, or needs any help in setting
their group membership the way that is most convenient for them,
please email me directly at reikiworkshops@... and I will be
glad to help you.
Thank you for being a part of this growing Reiki community, and
blessings to all of you.

your student might have accumilate and energy mass on the neck sometimes that
causes ringing in the ears and headaches in people who are developing
clairaudience, give some reiki to the back of the neck and help remove the
over-energy there and then give some reiki to the ears themselves. Headache can
be cause by the brow chakra or crown chakra trying to rebalance itself

Thank you for your suggestions Dave, I really appreciate it.
I do have Diane Stein's book Essential Reiki. I love it! It has previously been
suggested to me to get Hands of Light.. so now I see this sign is now a
billboard and I will be purchasing that book in the immediate future! I will
look at books by Walter Lubeck. I will get a traveling table for the time being
to I can take it with me to places. I'm also interested in Reflexology but am
having a hard time finding a School close to me! And, I will look into a local
organization that I can join.

Hi Stacy,
Hi Johanna,
I am 42 years old and earn less money now than I have in 10 years. I am also
stuck doing work that I am not happy with because I need to earn an income.
My goal is to have enough astrology and Reiki clients to be self-supporting but
I just can't seem to bring in enough clients.
Making money out of healing is a real tough field to get into. It takes a long
time to build a client base. The down side of reiki is that it works so well
that the same client does not need you very often, it is a never ending quest to
draw new clients to you. Although I advertise in the paper and in the Yellow
pages I hardly get any responses from them. Most of my client base comes from
word and mouth. I put a lot of effort into making my clients feel welcomed and
considered so that they will tell their family and friends about me.
When I decided to give up working and concentrate on healing I prayed for an
Italian client, I prayed for one every day, Italians are highly responsive to
reiki and spiritual practices, it has been part of their culture for over 600
years. Finally an Italian found me and I have been getting referrals which lead
to more referrals both here in Adelaide and in Melbourne.
I must admit most of my clients are attracted to me because of my psychic
healing abilities. It fascinates them that I can reveal to them their symptoms
and the source of their symptoms without touching them or if I reveal their
health information to them over the phone in advance to them making their
appointments. Because I can see their health information psychically it tends to
instill in them faith in me.
Nearly all of my repeat business comes from psychic readings, most of my clients
come in at least two or three times a year, and if anything traumatic happens
they come to see me more often.
My question to you Johanna, and anyone else who has built up a successful
practice, How did you manage to build up enough clientele to have a
self-supporting healing business?
Namaste,
Stacy
Stacy to build yourself a successful practice and client base you will need to
promote yourself as much as you can. I don't like going to markets and fairs but
I do, and give short healings and readings for a about $10.00 for 10 minutes in
these venues, this gives me an opportunity to introduce myself to the public,
and demonstrate at lost cost to the public the authenticity of my abilities.
To give your best to your clients you need to acknowledge your strongest skills,
mine are counselling, psychology and psychic skills. What are yours? Your best
skills will save you when you are unsure of your other skills.
To promote yourself you need to acknowledger your weaknesses. Mine is extreme
shyness, rather hard to promote yourself when you can't bring yourself to talk
to strangers, I need to know people for years before I feel comfortable with
them. So the first thing I had to work on was forcing myself to talk to
strangers, I started to heal this problem by learning how to be the first one to
say hello. What are your weaknesses and how can you use them or how can you turn
them into strengths.
When you are promoting yourself to others telling them what you do is not enough
in this field you need to show them. I will be at small business meetings and
chat to people and as soon as I sense that the person I am talking to has a
health problem I quickly scan them and then I will reveal to them information
that I picked up about their health, since they have never met me before they
are stunned that I know so much about them. When they ask me how I knew about
their health problem I explain that I am a reiki practitioner and I offer a
short demonstration on how reiki works. This normally captures their interests.
If I can pick up the source of their health problem I have won them as a client.
Imagine how you would capture their interests if you sensed that they have a
migraine and that they been having migraines for 10 years and you know that the
cause of the migraine is a blockage in their left hand. Imagine if you took
their hand and released the blockage and their migraine
disappeared. You may have healed this one person and he or she may never need
you again, but how many people would this one person have told about you, and
how many referrals will you get?
You may need to value ad to your services things you never intended or wanted to
use for example I never intended to become a psychic, that gift I was going to
keep private or use just it for diagnostic purposes, but around here people love
having readings when I got hungry enough and the bills mounted high enough I
began to give readings and now I find I enjoy doing it. Besides astrology and
reiki what else can you offer?
When I opend my practice I was only going to give reiki healing, but the
response was not very high, then I began to vaule ad to the service, I
introduced to the practice colour healing, chakra balance and aura healing, past
life healing, psychic counselling and psychic surgery. Then to my reluctance I
gave in and introduced psychic readings, and spirit communication and spiritual
cleansing. This mix works well for me and I am attracting a reasonable client
base but I am still in the building stages. As my practice is registered taxes
and and business expenses does take a huge chunk out of my pocket. But I
estimate another twelve months and I will be able to proud of my income. Right
now I am proud of my healing results.
To promote yourself you will need the courage to join groups, small business
groups and interests groups so you can network, you need to learn to start
conversations with people at bus stops, at the supermarket ques or anywhere else
you happen to be every body you meet has the potential to become a client.
Stacy you will also need to do the demographic research in your area: are there
enough people in your area who will be interested in the services that you
offer? The kind of shops available in your area will give you a hint. How many
successful esoteric shops are in your area. Look in the phone book how many
practitioners are there in your area? If they are there and have been there a
long time, this is evidence that the need is there, then you have to ask
yourself what can you offer a client that the others can't.
Are you easily accessible to your clients. All this is important for you to
know.
Hope this has helped you a little.
blessings to you Johanna

Hi all,
A most interesting subject - to read other's reasons and
experiences!
My own reason for enteringn into Reiki comes from my psychological
therapy with a woman, Havi, I came to know who incorporated this as
well as Polarity Therapy and Cranio-Sacral, as well as a couple other
things, into her practice. This person also has a PhD in psychology.
I had already begun my "path" into the metaphysical/spiritual realm
and prior to working with Havi, had begun working with another woman
in therapy. Havi began working at the same place and I'd see her now
and then in passing. When my therapist stopped doing this work I was
left hanging. Decided this might be a good point to simply stop
therapy. I'd been with working with her for 3 years.
After a year hiatus, certain things occured in my life that prompted
me to get back into therapy...I knew it was a necessity based on
where I was at the time (in a very, very bad place!). So, guided by
what I now know as Divine Intervention, I was moved to look in a
metaphysical directory and found Havi, and recalled her.
Once into therapy with her, she began using Reiki along with
traditional thereapy, and my first experience with Reiki was nothing
short of phenomenal. After 10 months in therapy with her using this
and other alternative modes, I had made MORE progress then in the 3
years with traditional therapy. It was literally life-changing!
Havi began offering classes and attunements in Reiki and I KNEW at
the moment I found this out that I should take this! I was also
prompted by my youngest daughter's move to Colorado, as I knew I'd be
able to help her after level 2 via distance Reiki. And it made a
connection between us that eased both of us.
Immediately upon receiving the attunements for level one, I went out
doors from where it was held and lay down on the lawn near a tree,
feeling the energy, and closed my eyes. I almost immediately began
getting a vision - a movie-log of my life from childhood to this
point, which revealed why I had certain experiences and how it all
lined up and came together to bring me to this point. I then KNEW
without a doubt I was meant to use Reiki and do healing work...and
why. This was in 1996. I received level two 3 months later that
same year, and it has all evolved since then. I did not receive my
Master's level until a while after 9/11 in 2001, when I knew it
was "the right time."
This July I learned and was attuned by Havi to Karuna Ki, and had an
amazing, totally unexpected "spontaneous" healing of a mole I had on
my hand. A mole the size of a dime on the top of my left hand
suddenly totally disappeared after that attunement! Why I still get
amazed after all these years, I don't know, but I do! LOL
I must add, however, that it was not until I received a 22-strand DNA
activation by Havi, who has since become a full-fledged shaman with
incredible abilities, that I have totally been released of depression
entirely. That was an amazing experience all of it's own and the
most transformative for me.
Thanks for letting me share this. I look forward to reading more of
the others!
Namaste,
Virginia
Great experience! It is heartening for us all, to say the least!
Had to share an experience with you about my now-deceased dog,
Amber. She died 6 years ago Oct. 1st. She was diagnosed with bone
cancer (she was almost 16 years old). I went home and cried buckets
after the vet showed me the xray. As time went on and the pain
became worse, they gave me some medicine for her to relieve the pain
but she threw it up and could not ever hold any of it
down...including even low-dose asprin or acetaminophen. So I began
to regularly and more intently Reiki her. She drew more energy then
I've ever experienced on any one or thing before or since. It was a
tremendous flow. It worked to ease her pain quite a bit. The vet
was totally amazed that she was not experiencing much pain given the
extent of the cancer. So much of her bone totally eaten away and
even broke in places. I was so glad to have been able to help her
where nothing else could, even though when the time came, releasing
her was the hardest thing I've ever had to do.

Dear All of You!!!
I want to say "Thank You" from the bottom of my heart for all your
wise words regading my dilemma. All of my Thank You notes got lost
in cyberspace!! I wrote long responses to each one of you and these
have totally disappeared. Jeff has told you of the Yahoo problems.
Psychically I do not know what this means but you are all very
special to me. I will still send you private notes since Yahoo is
losing things. It will take me a little time. I have been hoping
that they would appear out of nowhere!! Just know I am grateful for
all your wonderful suggestions and you will be hearing from me soon
in person!
Love, Lori
A neighbor came by for what I will coin an awkward visit, "to check on me"
asking if I was staying in because I was frightened about a murder in the
neighborhood of which I had no knowledge because my heqad was stuck in the
computer and printer kinks and snags all week. When she left I noticed she had
taken the crocheted coaster I'de made for my glasses to sit on. It was my first
attempt, and was atrocious, and I couldn't believe she took it with her after
asking about it, I have felt empty, unmotivated and depressed since she left.
My head hurts, I'm very tired and my back and neck are aching. I feel
exhausted, no energy. How can Reiki be used to get rid of this less than
compatible energy in my apartment and to feel better. Can you recommend an
energy treatment for a beginner to use, please. I am quite uncomfortableat the
moment.
I used to visualize the colors of energy quite frequently and used the white
colored energy to rid myself of a migraine but I need for someone to recommend
an easy to learn method and some easy to read books for beginners.
Thanks, crafty
Thank you Suzie,
Thank you for giving us this symbol in the photos section, I will

is called.
Again thank you. :-)

In the files of this group, reikisymbolnews-subscribe@yahoogroups.com,
there are several interesting symbols, and one for treating cancer
patients.
I am going to work with my long time friend and erstwhile teacher,
Merlynne Whitebear, to create an online reference of all the symbols
we know. Her web site is http://www.bearspirit.co.uk/. keep going
back to this and we will over time build a great library for you.
Feel free to mail either of us if you know of any symbols that can be
added!
Greetings all
What a blessing it is to be in this group. I get much joy as well as
learning from you all!

Dear Wade (friend and namesake!) you always make me smile. I love
everything you say here about reverence etc. Also the mystery school
idea is intriguing. Personally I perceive Reiki as being like an
order of magic, what with the three Degrees (and in some systems
seven). Though I expect many Reiki Masters might disagree with this
notion, I am with Stacy:
>With a background inAstrology, Wicca and Kabalah I was right at home
>working with energy and was
>amazed at how similar Reiki is to Wicca in that respect.
I'm no astrologer but share the rest of that background - though
actually Reiki was the first of these studies for me.
I remember one of my fellow students from Level I couldn't wait for
our teacher, Beth Gray, to return to Australia in 6 months. She went
to America to learn Level II. (Options were few in those days!) She
was there to assist at our Level II class, telling us with joy, "It's
fair dinkum magic!" And so it seemed to me. That was when I decided I
must become a Master so as to share this magickal gift with as many
people as possible. The morning after my Level II class, I put
"Amazing Grace" on the stereo real loud - we had no near neighbours -
and sang and danced for joy. Since then have explored much magick,
and still think Reiki is pure magick!

Thanks Will! This was a wonderful post, great to read your views. Ah
but, I did not say I *felt* stupid, only that it might look that way
to some. On that point I have been most kindly and thoroughly
reassured by yourself and others, which I much appreciate. And thanks
to everyone who has freely and lovingly shared their thoughts on this
topic! You are all so eloquent, it's beautiful. It is clear that
despite some differences of opinion, everyone is deeply thoughtful on
these issues, and coming from integrity. What a shining example of a
Reiki community!
One of my dilemmas has been what to say to my Level II students on
such matters. Wade's words on reverence, Will's on honour, and
Katharine's on the symbols always working for the highest good might
all be included, I think. So far I have always said something like,
"Even though the symbols can be found all over the place nowadays,
*I* promised not to reveal them, and so I need to ask you for the
same promise." They are always happy to agree.
On the matter of whether to use symbols or transcend them, one
beautiful Master practitioner I trained says she seldom uses them at
all, yet I know she gives wonderful Reiki treatments. She has
Buddhist leanings, also her own soul energy is very pure and special;
for these reasons it seemed to me appropriate to simply smile and to
validate what she is doing by giving her some of Vincent Amador's
stuff to read (http://angelreiki.nu/reiki-do) about *being* Reiki and
letting go of symbols - while I continue to use them all the time and
keep right on teaching them.
I remember also that Mrs Takata is quoted (by Helen Haberly) as
saying, "There is no wrong way to do Reiki - and thus no right way."
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Tom
I usually refer to them by number as Symbol 1, etc. But these names
are so beautiful I might adopt them forthwith! Only ... which is
which for 2 and 3? I can see a good case either way!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear HH, I am sure I am not the only one who will wonder - are you
willing to share this symbol?

On the other hand, to be fair, Stein's section on the symbols alerted
me to the fact that #2 can be used to remove entities from the
emotional body, and #3 to remove them from the mental body and also
clear Karmic issues. I don't remember if she actually says so, or if
it can be inferred from what she does say - but anyhow after reading
whatever she says I tried it from curiosity next time I was doing a
clearing with a client, and both symbols worked FAST! #2 was so
instantaneous that both the client and I were astounded. Since this
group has recently been discussing entity removal, you might all like
to try this too. (It would follow that #1 should clear entities which
lodge in the physical body, as they sometimes do.)

Dear Yvonne, I always find that when Reiki appears to cause problems,
the solution is always more Reiki! If it's a healing crisis, it
brings the person out the other side faster. Often it is not really a
problem at all, e.g. in this case it could be that her clairaudience
is going to a new level and a period of adjustment is part of that.
(Sometimes people's third eyes hurt when they begin to open; or those
who are about to start voice channelling will experience coughs and
sore throats.) If so, more Reiki will still facilitate the process
whilst hopefully relieving or eradicating the symptoms.

Dear Richard, thanks for such a clear account of the matter!
Luv & blessings to all - Rosemary
My dad's girlfriend gave me this recipe for pulling toxins out of the
body after attunements, energy work, colds or many other reasons we
have when we are detoxing or cleansing.
Take 1/4 cup of ground ginger and mix it in your bath water. If you
feel extremely tired and sick and can't get out to get the ground
ginger, ginger root in the tea bags work well also in a pinch, though
however messy. lol But very effective. :) Sit in the bath water for
a half hour (also putting your head in the water for a while because
we detox also through our scalp). After you are done sitting in the
bath, take a shower using your normal soap and shampoo to get all of
the ginger out.
After having taken an energy work class Sat., I felt crummy come
Monday. I was too tired and exhausted and weak to go get any ginger,
besides that my whole sale store was closed on Labor Day and buying
it in bulk is actually more cost effective. But I had some ginger
root tea bags still, so I cut those open and poured them into my 1/4
measuring cup and used that. My energy came back while I was sitting
in the tub, and by the time that I got out, I felt energetic and
refreshed. This also works very well for when you have a cold, or
flu, or even after you have had a reiki treatement or any kind of
energy work done (because any energy work and attunements stir up the
toxins in your body) or even after you have a reiki attunement. I
know that had I known about the bath, after I got done taking Usui
Reiki II and detoxed quite a bit, I would have taken it. I was laid
up for 3 days detoxing and felt miserable. :(
I hope that this post helps others like it has me. :)
HH
Dear Lynn,
Thank you so much for sharing your personal experience of NDE, it's
great to hear from someone who understands first hand!
It is interesting that you mention different types of experience.
I realise that what we experience during such a journey may depend
somewhat on the circumstances of our predicament and maybe also our
conditioning/upbringing/expectations.
Also, the phase of life in which we have these experiences seems to
have some bearing on the overall picture.
Over the past 3 years i have been gathering information and case
histories from people in the world of healing who have experienced an
NDE or OOBE, comparing, studying similarities and dis-similarities.
One person who contacted me had spent over 3 months in a coma during
a prolonged illness.
Although he was kept medically stable and didn't 'flat-line' at any
time, he journeyed through what he describes as parallel lives.
Some of the fine detail he can relate from these other lives can and
has been tracked and verified.
The disorientation he experiences in his life is a bit like trying to
confine yourself to eating just one layer of filo pastry.
You want it all!
Reiki seems to be his best method of adjustment and probably also
offers a way of safely reconnecting with that experience.
I myself find that i can quite safely travel to the land beyond the
vortex through meditation and sometimes through everyday situations.
A permanent connection, or line of dialogue has been left open for me
to link with. Sometimes deliberately, sometimes spontaneously.
I know there have been many studies of NDE and OOBE's, but how many
have been done with the Reiki/healing community?
In the past, stories related by public figures such as doctors,
lawyers, policemen etc., have served to lend credence to the whole
concept of another realm of existence.
Many folk still feel they need that kind of validation.
However, those of us within the field of healing need no such
reassurance.
It will be interesting to look at NDE, OOBE etc., with people who
have had their experiences before their life as healers/after their
life as healers, and maybe even both.
Is there a significant shift in experience type after
attunements/training?
Does our acceptance of the event improve, or do we feel even more
drawn to return home?
Maybe we now work with aspects of that experience, to improve
ourselves/our healing practise?
Anyone who'd like to write to me off-list with their story and/or
thoughts can contact me at:-
www.mandy@absolute_harmony.com
Please let me know whether you would be willing for me to include
your story (with your name altered) in any future publication.
All Love,
mandy x
