Hi all,
I hope you can help me. I've been in contact with a young woman living in
Boston who is looking for a Reiki healing group/share. She's a client not a
practitioner, but could use some healing at one of the many intro nights that
are in the area. If you have info including days, contact, cost (if any) etc.
please send email to me directly.
Reiki Blessings,
Dianne
Hi Johanna,
"I got quite a few emails both in the group and privately when I queried
what members thought about the accreditation process and costs. I am glad to
hear that everyone agreed that it was way over the top, to my surprise
members in different states informed me that Reiki is already accredited in
other Australian states. I can't believe that the accreditation isn't
federal."
It may be a good idea if you get in touch with The Australian Reiki
Connection. ARC are very involved in establishing and implementing a
national accreditation scheme and are delightful people to work with. ARC is
growing steadily and is the largest Reiki association in Australia. They
will also help you get cheap insurance and discounts on other products which
might be useful to practitioners.

Subject: [ReikiWorkshops] Re: Dogs
Hi Duff,
Perhaps with the dogs you could try walking up to them right from the
beginning with your energy on and then petting them. If that doesn't work, then
try distant sending. Most dogs I have worked with love reiki and will sit
forever for it. Unless they have had a past trauma, either in current or past
life situation. Then they will run and be leary. Then distant sending is the
best because they can sit with their owner, be loved and cuddled and still
receive their treatment.
Most of my work seems to be around dogs and cats, and many of them have been
abused. Cats I have found because they like to come and go as they please,
distant sending is usually best for them. If you do hands on, some like it only
for a couple of minutes and then come right back for more. My cat is like that.
So sometimes I sit and let him come back for more, or do by distant because he
will then receive as much as he can handle and I don't have to sit and keep
waiting for him to come back.
Both of my animals are attuned Usui Masters and Karuna Masters. My dog Benji
loves reiki and will sit for hours and be your best buddy if you give him hands
on healing all day. lol
Hopefully those suggestions will help you out when dealing with the dogs. : )

Hello,
I do not know if John Gray has veered away from Takata. But if you want to dowse
chakras, then you need to also teach dowsing... What I do know is that chakras
are not part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, so not in Usui's original
teachings. Now at soem point chakras were "included" in Reik by some teachers,
but I do not know when or by whom. My first Reiki I teacher was following the
Reiki Alliance and she did not say anything about chakras. If she decided to
drop that part, I do not know.

Good points, Earl and Nicole.
I'd like to add just a bit. One healer I respect is Rosalyn L. Bruyere.
Laboratory research was conducted on her healing work. In some other posts on
the list, the movie about her was mentioned - the movie is "Resurrection"
starring Ellen Burston. Ms Bruyere has a wonderful book on chakras, auras, and
the healing energy of the body - "Wheels of Light", ISBN 0-671-79624-0
In the book, she says, in part -
"Generally, a healthy functioning chakra will spin or turn in a clockwise
direction (when we are viewing the front of a person), so that the energy will
be drawn upward to the next chakra. (Below the equator, healthy chakras spin
counterclockwise.) When the energy encounters a chakra that is spinning
counterclockwise, it will be dissipated or drained from the system. Sometimes a
chakra will not seem to be spinning at all. This is often indicative of a weak
chakra, which blocks energy flow."
So, my take on this is that a clockwise spin brings energy into the chakra
system/body, a counterclockwise spin removes energy from the chakra system/body.
Importantly, she further states:
"There is another important explanation for the backward movement of a chakra.
The moon cycle or menstrual cycle causes a woman's central meridian to reverse
direction for nine days of the month. During this time some of her chakras,
usually every other one, turn backward. This is not necessarily indicative of
damage or illness. This time of the month is a sloughing-off period, an
elimination cycle, which is also intended to eliminate concepts, ideas, and bad
feelings along with any impurities expelled with the blow of blood.
Men as well as women have this twenty-eight day cycle. While the male cycle is
not a psysiological one, it is one of regeneration in much the same way as is a
woman's cycle. Culturally men are not taught to take advantage of that
regenerative cycle. During these times, both men's and women's energy flow
actually reverses, as may their chakras."
She also states in the book that if you work on just one chakra long enough and
it doesn't matter which one, it will bring all the other chakras into alignment.
Because the chakras need to spin in both in a clockwise direction to bring
energy in and a counterclockwise direction to eliminate energy at different
times for me, I don't let anyone mess with my chakras :-)
Blessings,

I agree. I would go even further and say there there is no universal chakra
standard against which a chakra, any chakra, ought to be judged.

There are other reasons, valid reasons, for 'blocking' or reducing the
energy flow through a chakr. Do folks really believe that a down syndrom
child who came into this world to assist specific folks ought to display the
same chakra properties as someone who came here to achieve the ulitmate in
physical prowess, and that both should dispaly the same chakra properites as
one who came to serve? I am a loss to understand why anyone would believe
we should all be the same vis a vis our chakras.

I think I may have started this discussion when I said that one of the
Reiki Masters I've studied with advised against using your own thighs in
a distant healing. I suggested that a teddy bear or other stuffed animal
or even a pillow was a safer approach. The point I was trying to make
was that when you are doing the healing on a part of your own body, i.e.
your thighs, you may connect with the distant client in such a manner
that brings their energy into your body.
I took Usui Reiki I and II from three different Reiki Masters over a
period of approximately 12 years. The first Reiki Master I studied with
did not mention this technique, the second one taught it, and the third
advised against it.
I really don't know if using your thighs for a distant treatment creates
a danger, but it's easy enough to avoid. Distant healing can be done
other ways such as visualization or by using an object such as a stuffed
animal or pillow as the surrogate. There is no need to use your own
thighs, so if there is a possible danger that this technique could
create a connection that would transfer their "stuff" into my own body,
then it makes sense to me to avoid it.
I have always been taught that Reiki can do no harm, but in this case it
would not be the Reiki doing the harm, but rather the use of a
particular technique for connecting with a distant client. I seriously
doubt that Dr. Usui sat around doing distant Reiki on his thighs, so I
assume this is an idea that someone came up with that may not be a very
good idea.
I've never had an experience of taking on the client's stuff. In my
reality, it is not possible. I have occasionally experienced their pain
during a session, but when I place my hands on that portion of their
body the pain disappears. I assume that is just a way I receive the
information that I need to work there - usually my hands just go where
they are needed, so it does not happen often.
I did have one instance where I experienced physical problems after
treating someone. I was working with a woman who was undergoing
radiation for cancer. She came from the radiation session to me every
day. After several days, probably a week or so, I forget, I had to call
her and tell her I could not work on her that day. I was totally
exhausted and spent the day in bed. After that, I asked one of my former
students to team treat with me when I worked on her and neither of us
had any difficulty afterwards. In fact we had some very interesting
experiences working together with her.
I think that the problem I had resulted from being in her energy field
immediately after the received the radiation treatment. We found that we
could not work on her body - it was as if her body pushed us away. We
worked on the energy field around the body. My best guess is that Reiki
was working to heal her fields from the effects of the radiation, and
with two of us working we were able to do that without damage to our own
energy fields.
I do not think that the Reiki did the harm, but rather the intermingling
of energy fields when she had just had a radiation treatment. I might
have had difficulty just being in her presence - I was very open and
sensitive to negative energy at that point in my life. Her energy was,
well, fritzy. I don't know how else to describe it. And I attribute that
to the damage to her energy fields from repeated radiation treatments
despite daily Reiki sessions. It was not pleasant being in her energy
although she was a very loving person and herself a healer. It did not
occur to me to work on myself afterwards - probably if I had I could
have put my own energy field back to rights. I had added daily (free)
sessions for her to an already too busy schedule and did not take care
of myself.
Usually I feel wonderful after giving a session and I know that the cost
of giving a session is receiving one.

I am curious about that. In John Gray's (one of Takata's students) FIRST
degree class, he addresses the chakras. He gives a basic overview of them, not
very indepth, just a basic concept, and when teaching treatments of Reiki, he
first has one check the energy field of the receiver (aka the size of the energy
field) and then he has one, sort of "dowse" each chakra checking to see which
chakra needs attention, and then towards the close of treatment is yet
another check, to see if they have been addressed properly, and perhaps need
further
attention.
Do you feel John has veered away from Takata's original teachings??

Hi Paul Dennis,
I respectfully disagree with your view that we should not "graft" other
belief systems onto our teaching Sessions, although yes, we should keep
things simple.
I believe that anytime we learn something, whether it is Reiki training, the
Indian or Western chakra system, or learning to read Tarot cards, we are
learning about someone's vision of how the world should be. In order to
gain the most benefit from our learning, we need to make that vision our
own, and that means adding our own experience to the teaching. Every time I
teach a course it is different, although the core teachings remain intact,
because I grow and change and because the energy of each student is
different. Of course I make clear which is the original teaching and which
is my own, but there are some things that become an integral part of my
workshops. For instance, I spend a great deal of time teaching about
cleansing, protection and grounding because I feel these are the most basic
components of any spiritual discipline, the ABC's of any kind of healing
work we can do. Also I find that the meaning of the symbols evolve as I
evolve, and so I share this new knowledge with my students. My guides
continually show me how I can use these symbols in different ways and for
different conditions, even though this might not be part of the original
teaching. I don't believe that Reiki should be rigid, Universal Energy is
continually offering us unlimited possibilities.
I love these discussions, by the way, and just want to acknowledge that we
are both right!

Dear friends all
Just to return to the subject of karma for a minute - I think karma
is a great gift and blessing! It teaches us balance, and even more
than that it actually creates balance in us. It helps us to put
ourselves in other people's shoes, and shows us the need for being
responsible in our actions. I think it is sad that so many people
view it in a negative way, as punishment or suffering.
Dear Paul
Ah yes! Of course! THANK YOU!

Hi Lisa,
I understand what you mean, some practitioners do have problems with confidence
when it comes to reiki. I normally suggest to new students and to novice
practitioners who are worried or concerned about their ability to heal, not to
start their reikian life by offering healing but to start it with offering reiki
relaxation therapy. Since a level of healing always takes place regardless
whether you call the session a relaxation session or a healing treatment. This
way the receiver is not expecting too much from the practitioner and the
practitioner has not over burdened him or herself with the healing out come.
When unnecessary stress is not there, the channeling is better and so is the
outcome and the new student or practitioner can grow strong and confident in his
or her way and at his or her own way.
Someone in the group made a reference that reiki practitioners should not worry
about those who are gifted with aura sight or psychic powers, they should be
happy with their own gifts of healing, I agree, what is right for an individual
will come to them when they are ready. I can vouch that aura sight is great when
there are pretty images to enjoy but when treating a sick person the images can
be grotesque. I have seen diseased energies inside people or their chakras or
aura that looks like yeast infections, puss, sludge, snakes, rot, mold, worms
and when a person is mentally tormented the thought forms that lurk around them
are monstrous and frightening. I am very surprised that I ever developed aura
sight, I am sicken to the stomach by violent films, and anything that contains
any form of horror ikk or monsters and some of the stuff you see in a sick
person makes these gross films kiddy stuff.
I think reiki practitioners or any other form of healers for that matter are
pretty special people, not everyone has the mind and heart to deal with other
people's sickness and pain

We can offer the basic knowledge and then they are free to explore it
further. I have taught students from all around the world. Not one has been
offended or upset by the fact that I include brief explainations of the various
vibrational healing modalities, chakra, crystal, color etc.
As we are all unique individuals, so are the way that we teach and treat..

the work of the other means and that they work well together for the greatest

The same pretty much happened to me also Johanna. But it started in May of 2002
for me. Memorial Weekend to be exact.
I had some abilities when I was a child, like telepathy, dreams of past lives
and premonition dreams. Plus feeling energy in places. I also used to do
telekinesis with pool table balls. lol
But I had closed it all off due to people saying that I couldn't do that. My
mother never did tell me that as she had abilities also, but other people did.
Then after having shut everything off for 12 yrs., in May of 2002 I had a
reading from this lady online and my grandmother had came through. Then the
flood gates opened with far more than I ever knew that I could do.
I'm still trying to get back some of my abilities that I had as a child. The
telekinesis I think is pretty much gone, (unless I use a pendulum, I can even
move a pendulum that another person is moving who lives overseas from me. lol)
and the telepathy is now with animals. lol But I'm still working on it. lol

To Wade and to Ruth, on your multidimensional discussions:
Just want to add that it IS possible to develop this multidimensional way of
seeing/being. I found that this happened naturally as I progressed to
different forms of healing. Reiki training gave me the tools I needed to
channel my healing abilities in a positive direction. The additional
symbols in my Shamballa training seemed to work more for myself than for
clients. These symbols seemed to be the keys I needed to really deep-heal
myself emotionally and mentally, and I forgave, resolved, cleared all past
issues. The post-Shamballa course, "The 12 Dimensions of Healing," which
was also taught by John Armitage, was the epitome of multidimensionality!
This course really opened the doorways to all the dimensions of my being in
ways that I never dreamed possible. I can now view any situation of mine,
or any situation of my client's, from every dimension at once and truly
understand it and the consequences of any decision/choice/action I or my
client could take. I can clearly see how energy moves and functions and
filters its way from the spiritual down to the physical level. I understand
how an issue changes as I see it from a unity perspective rather than from a
duality perspective. I live the truth that we are all one and I can see,
energetically, how we are all connected. Though since learning Reiki I was
called a "master," now I am starting to finally live that truth.
Anyone in the Montreal, Canada area who are interested in taking this
course, "The 12 Dimensions of Healing" can e-mail me for more info. It is
truly a life-changing course.
Namaste to all,

Earl,
I agree with you that it is safest to let our guides direct the energy
wherever it needs to go rather than deciding which way the chakras should
spin. We need to remember that our chakra system is like our "etheric
identity", in that it is a map which shows us where our energy flows freely
and where there are blockages. Blockage areas are defense mechanisms which
we set up ourselves, albeit unconsciously, to protect ourselves from pain.
As such, our chakras open to a greater degree when we are in a good space,
and shut down to a greater degree when we are in a stressful place. If a
client is living in a highly stressful place, opening a chakra, or spinning
it in a direction we decide is right could be more harmful than anything
else. I allow the guides to do their healing work on the chakras, then I
surround each chakra with a protective, loving, Reiki "hug".
Your welcome Wade,
I'm not sure if this would apply to empaths, but it does apply to ones energy
sensitive like myself. : ) Because I was taught to do it with every client
since my first reiki class, I would believe that it would help empaths also as
they pick up on emotions from other people's energy. Thus also being energy
sensitive.
To have what happened to me, happen to an empath, I'm sure would cause
catastrophic effects to them.

Hi Snowangeldreams9,
welcome :-)))
> I'm more than happy to learn about evolving past this duality we
> experience, if in fact thats where the negative aspects of healing
> stem from. Please elaborate or send a link? Thanks so much.
According to channeled messages from the Ascended Masters, the universe of
Duality in that we live at present was created by Higher Beings that live in
the universe of Oneness. A soul that wanted to experience duality had to
split into several parts, usually 2-7, seldom 9. This parts are called
twinsouls (not to be confused with soulmates). This soul-parts also got
someone to watch, help and guide them, this entity is called Higher Self.
This Higher Self is still whole and belongs to the universe of Oneness. At
the end of the cycle, when all the twinsouls have learned and reached a
sufficiently high spiritual level, they will join again and become One, this
is called Chymic Marriage. The entity will return to the universe of
Oneness and the Higher Self will ascend further on it's spiritual path,
joining the Ascended Masters and Angel/Archangel hierarchy.
So, to answer your question, I would suggest that in order to evolve past
this duality you have to experience enlightment and all your twinsouls have
to do that, too, so that you can merge with them and become One.
Unfortunately, not all the twinsouls are at the same spiritual level at the
same time, and not all of them are incarnated at the same time, too. But
they are closely connected and when you meet one or more of your twinsouls
it is a very moving experience at soul and heart level, and usually a hard
learning lesson. Believe me, I had mine. :-(
Soulmates are groups of souls who incarnate together to make certain
experiences, you can call them workgroups. They are usually a circle of
friends and family members who incarnate again and again together, creating
and solving carmic issues and learning from them and from each other.
Love,
Elisabeth

Dear Wade (and Everybody),
thanks for the long and extremely interesting reply.
The topic of chakras and chakra directions reminds me of something else that
I experienced several times.
There are people who seem to be unable to access enough of their own
energies or generate enough energies for themselves for some reasons. They
are sucking up the energies from others and live from them. Often this
people are sick or old, but they can also be emotionally traumatized and
blocked up. They seem to have in common that they feel revived when they
visit crowded places where they can get into close proximity with others, or
after having sex (while the partner feels energy depleted after
intercourse), or after an argument that they usually provoke.
What I found in this people is that their chakras are either insufficiently
open/moving, blocked, or spinning in the wrong direction.
Another category of energy vampires that I came across often are after
spiritual energies that they feed on for various reasons. Among them I find
so-called attunement and healing energies addicts who can't get enough and
ask again and again for attunements from various systems, even invoking them
by themselves. They can be very persistent and demanding if they find
someone who is happy to share.
Often they are sick people who really need a lot of healing energies for
serious emotional and physical conditions, but sometimes they are
"professional energy suckers" who are using this energies for various
purposes. They often use grids and "projects" to make Reiki people channel
energies for them and pump the channeled energies for a "common purpose".
This energy suckers can be "research institutions", private persons, or even
aliens (like Grays) who need this energies to survive (here on Earth?).
http://www.magnussa.com/grays.html
Hope I have not shocked anybody by talking about this. Has anybody else got
some experience that s/he would like to share with us?
About the reptile entities, I came across them, too. They are very hard to
exorzise once they possess somebody, and are real energy suckers for their
host and others around her/him. They are believed to be Earth creatures
from a time before the first humans appeared on Earth. I also heard about
alien reptiles that are stemming from Sirius and are also very vicious.
They all provoke others and then suck the invoked emotional energies like
anger, hate, etc.
Love,
Elisabeth
Hello Denis,
I agree with you regarding chakras and Reiki. I personally do not teach
chakra-Reiki to my students because I see them as two different disciplines
(that can mix well together, but still they are different). And it would take a
full course on itself to get to any level where you "know what you are doing"
with chakras!

Dear friends
Re measuring the Reiki energy and its effects - I was taught that
Arthur Robertson, a Master in my lineage, was attached in some other
capacity to Stanford University in the US, and had measured or tested
both the energy and its effects, and that is how we know for instance
that it will penetrate substances that x-rays won't. But no-one I
ever met had ever seen any literature on his research. Does anyone
know where that might be available?

Hello Rosemary,
I am a member of the Reiki workshop group, I found it very
interesting the sheilding you had mentioned via the Solar Plexus
chakra. I find that whenever I hear a knock on my door,
(unexpected), or a bad dream, it always hits me in that chakra. I
would love to learn that sheilding. I have a theory as to why it hits
me there, I'm thinking its due to a past life issue. Anyway, I look
forward to your reply.
Namaste,
Phyllis Kiklis
Hi Phyllis, happy to help.
I visualised a shield big enough to cover that chakra, in fact I
visualised it in place there. It was round, bronze, and had an
equal-armed cross on it. But I am sure yours could look however
seemed right to you. I allow my intuition to guide me in how it
should be, and yours might come up with something different but
better for you personally. However, you could have my design if you
liked!
Sometime later I saw at a market where I was working, a medallion
same size, shape and colour, with an image of Quetzalcoatl on it.
(Actually copper not bronze, but treated to similar colour.) Had no
money, but put out to the Universe that if it were for me it would
not be sold until I had earned sufficient. I did, and it wasn't, and
when I put it on OF COURSE it sat exactly over my solar plexus
chakra. Although I did not have a crucifix as such on my visualised
shield, I had the idea of Christ in mind, and/or what he represents.
(Just because I am Wiccan doesn't mean I don't love and respect the
Christ.) Originally, before his people turned to blood sacrifice, Q
was a benevolent sun-god, so it seemed to me to embody similar energy.
Later still the chain broke and the new one I got would not go quite
so low, though still basically over that chakra ... and after a while
I came to realise I no longer needed the physical nor even the visual
shield; could by then just think of shielding and it would instantly
happen. By now I don't even think; it's on automatic. But I had to do
all that other stuff first, for quite a long time (many months) to
get the hang of it.
If you would like to clear the past life, you could ask your Higher
Self to do it for you. You can do so via Reiki II and Symbol 2, when
working on the head. Or you could just make the request
telepathically, and use a pendulum or simply your intuition to know
if it is agreed to and when it is done. If you are curious about the
other life, you could ask to be shown the crucial details first and
then have it cleared - but once a thing is cleared, it is not
advisable to dwell on it in case of restimulating it. I think that if
you become aware of a particular life in any way, then you are meant
to know of it and are probably ready to clear that one.
The solar plexus is pour power centre, of course. I have had trouble
in the past in giving away my power and/or not fully owning it. You
may wish to look at that one too. Mind you, I don't know which came
first, the chicken or the egg. Did I have power problems because of
weak s.p., or was the weakness caused by my behaviour and attitude?
It probably doesn't matter so long as one attends to both!
Blessings -
Rosemary
I got quite a few emails both in the group and privately when I queried what
members thought about the accreditation process and costs. I am glad to hear
that everyone agreed that it was way over the top, to my surprise members in
different states informed me that Reiki is already accredited in other
Australian states. I can't believe that the accreditation isn't federal. I
suppose if there is a way to make money people and governments will find it. I
for one am happy working my own practice and taking care of my own clients.
Obviously unless they change the intended accreditation structure and fees I am
not going to be able to afford to become accredited, and I don't think too many
other practitioners here will either; it seems just like another member of this
stated, they are designing it so only people on high incomes can afford it to
become accredited. For me personally becoming accredited is not that important:
I am just glad I am able to help people recover form the health
problems.

Subject: [ReikiWorkshops] Re: Vajra Reiki (and Wade Ryan)
I've been trying to find information about Vajra Reiki for several months
now(!) I've also been trying to track down Wade Ryan, and have had no success
finding information on him currently.
One of ten "grandmasters" of Vajra? Anyone else familiar with this system and
know who else is teaching it currently? Or know anything about Wade Ryan's
current situation? I'd be grateful for any information, both for personal
interest and also for some correspondents overseas who are interested in Vajra
for possible use against AIDS.

Hi Wade,
I used to work like this - especially the sweating. I had a chat with my guides
and helpers, asking them to tone down the physical effects on me without toning
down the energies and I it worked. My hands can be quite painful at the end of
a healing, so I just ask that all excess energy be returned to the universe to
be used for the good of those who require it - the pain leaves immediately.

A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.
