Greetings,

I just wanted to announce that I've taken over management of the
Detroit area Reiki Meetup group, which is open to any type of energy
workers in the SE Michigan area. We have a lot of folks of all
stripes, traditions and lineages who practice Reiki and other types
of energy work, and I want to create a fun place to network, learn
and of course, socialize.

I also started a Detroit Energy Healers Meetup, but my intention at
the beginning at least is for both groups to meet together. If in
future they need/want to separate, I'm all for that. But for now,
there are precisely six members total in both groups, and two of
those are me, so I'm casting the net as wide as possible. Whether
there's one group or two, the only rule I will have is to be
accepting and understanding of others' experiences, regardless of
lineage, religion or lack thereof, training or who your Master might
be.

Right now, the meetings are set for 8 pm on the second Wednesday of
the month in the Borders in Auburn Hills -- Feb. 9 is the next one. I
live in Detroit, and that's too late and too far away for me, so I'm
definitely going to change both time and location. Wednesdays are
good for me, so I'll keep the day for now. I am looking for input
from members on locations and the time, but I'm thinking a 7 pm
start, and a location between Ferndale and Farmington Hills, unless
the membership is concentrated elsewhere.

I plan to keep on promoting this group, so if you see this or a
similar posting in other groups, I ask your indulgence. I'm not
trying to spam anyone, and of course, I'm sure not making any money
off of this. My motivation comes solely from the Asian tsunami
tragedy, and my desire to get people together locally to send
healing -- and not knowing of any such open group. I was quite
shocked and saddened to come upon an inactive Reiki group on the
Meetup forum, and resolved to do something about it.
