In the past, the ReikiWorkshops list has been a very active list with
broad and wide-ranging discussions. While many people have valued
those discussions, others have found it difficult to keep up with
what they are interested in without getting a flood of email on other
subjects. In an attempt to keep the variety, but make things more
usable for everyone, I have started several "sister" lists on some of
the subjects that have been discussed on Reiki Workshops in the past
or that seem to be important topics.

The Reiki Workshops Group will move back to the original focus of
listing announcements of residential and distance Reiki classes,
seminars, conferences, and special events. It will also be open for
questions about classes and training in energy healing, and to
recommendations and critiques of workshops and classes by people who
have participated in them. Please remember to keep all discussions
polite and respectful, and focused on facts and personal experiences
rather than differences of opinion on lineage, "legitimacy,"
philosophy, etc.

This list covers questions, discussions and speculations about
advanced topics in Reiki.. All styles and forms of Reiki -- Western,
Japanese, New Age, etc. -- are on-topic and we are open to sharing of
techniques and methods from different traditions. If you are a Reiki
practitioner faced with a difficult or unusual client or situation,
you can post questions and get feedback and advice from other
practitioners and teachers. If you have discovered a new method or
unique way of working with Reiki, you can share it with others around
the world. Technical questions and speculations are also welcomed.
This is also a good forum to ask for information about styles of
Reiki you have heard about and want to learn more about.

Reiki Research is a group for discussion of the nature of Reiki
energy, scientific studies of subtle energy, Eastern energy concepts
of ki, qi, prana, etc., and Western subtle energy studies such as
orgone, od, radionics and similar systems. Discussion of research,
theory and philosophy of any subtle or esoteric energies is
permitted, but the main focus of the group is on Reiki. We will also
be conducting some practical experiments in group application of
Reiki energy. Group membership is open to anyone interested in this
subject.

*JAPANESE REIKI*

Japanese Reiki is a list for sharing of information on japanese Reiki
systems, including their history and techniques. It includes
discussion of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, Gendai Reiki Ho, Komyo
Reiki Kai, Vortex Reiki, Usui Teate, Usui-Do, Reido Reiki and other
similar systems.

Reiki Chat is designed for informal and free-ranging discussions
about Reiki and energy work. Share something of your personal
journey, get into some of those controversies relating to Reiki and
similar disciplines, tie in other subjects such as eastern and
western religions, martial arts, Tai Chi or whatever. The only rules
are to keep it related in some way to the main subject matter and to
be respectful and polite.

*REIKI HEALING REQUESTS*

Reiki Healing Requests is a group for requests for healing through
Reiki and other energy modalities. Requests may be posted for
yourself, or for others as long as you have received their permission
to ask for healing requests in this way. It is also appropriate to
post requests for Reiki in global issues--world peace, natural
disasters and similar situations.

Reiki for Christians is a list is set up to promote open and positive
discussions and sharing on Reiki for Christians and how these healing
technique can be integrated into the ministry of the Church. On-
topic discussions include techniques and methods of treatment,
integration into ministry, books and workshops, as well as the
history of Reiki in the U.S. and in Japan and similar subjects.
Closely related therapies such as Amplified Prayer, MariEl Healing,
etc. are also on-topic for this group.

For a more broad-based discussion of energy work and healing in the
Christian Church that includes a variety of techniques such as
Healing Touch, Therapeutic Touch, Reiki, Quantum Healing, Qi Gong,
Accupressure and similar techniques, you might be interested in:

Epithesis is a group that focuses on Christian Healing ministries
