Hi everyone I have never done this before my name is Kim and I have 3 children
4, 6, and 9. Both my younger children have had reflux as babies which everyone
assured me would disappear. They both had prepulsid and one also had zantac
(ranitidine). The medicines did have some results and my 6 year old Amelia was
better at 16 months. My other child seems to have times of being better but they
have had him on ranitidine most of this year. I maintained that I thought my
daughter also had some reflux but didn't want to go overboard for fear that
everyone would think of me as being paranoid as I go often enough for their
asthma. Amelia had endoscopy done a few months ago to try to find out the cause
of her severe stomach aches. It was discovered she had oesophagitis and they put
her on medication for the stomach aches periactin and zantac which taught her to
take tablets rather quickly. Now however he has taken her off the tablets as she
put on a lot of weight (some of which was needed). What I am concerned about is
she seems to have really bad teeth. We go to the dentist every 3 months and she
always needs a filling despite having the same diet as her older brother who
never needs any. Am wondering if it is the reflux and whether I should push
harder for treatment of this not just the stomach aches.? am also wondering as
the aches seem worse when she gets full.
Kim
