My daughter, Catrin, just had the nissen fundoplication done,
laprascopically. She is doing so well! On the second day, she was
galloping up and down the halls of the hospital. She asked for pain
meds only once. She surprised everyone, even the doctors.
They "kicked us out" on day three.
The surgeon had told me the surgery has improved over five years
ago. I guess he was right.
The hardest part now is trying to keep her on her restricted diet.
She begs constantly for Doritos and "burger-and-fries." I made a
picture menu (she is only 4 years old), and she wanted bread so badly
she drew it in herself. LOL
I am thrilled that she is doing so well, feeling so great. Still, it
breaks my heart. If the day after surgery is her best day ever, how
horrible has her life been up until now?
I am just glad we got it done, here and now. What a blessing!
