Re: seizures and reflux   Message List

Hello, everyone.,

I'm worried about my son. I'm wondering if anyone has a child with reflux
that's has seizures and found a correlation between the two issues.
My son had a seizure at 3yrs old , then some questionable staring episodes
at 4 and now I think I may be seeing something again. He is 5. I was
trying to wean him from his zantac a little as advised by his doc. This
is when . I starting noticing something.
Has anyone heard of seizures being precipitated by acid reflux causing the
vagus nerve to be stimulated??
I know that there are vagal nerve stimulators used to control serious
recurring seizures. But........I am wondering if the reverse if
possible. That possibly acid reflux can irritate the vagus nerve to
initiate seizures .
THanks for your time..........Lorraine
