I know that feeling of wanting to figure things out and get the
results sooner rather than later! Its frustrating to wait a week for
results. I'm glad you both got through the pH probe! When the pH
drops below 4.0, it means there is reflux occurring. The degree of
severity of reflux isn't dependent on the pH numbers. It is dependent
on the percentage of time spent below 4.0 as well as how long it
takes to clear when the pH drops. So, if it drops below 4 for a few
seconds, it isn't nearly as significant as if it drops below 4 for 30
minutes. I hope this information helps you correlate what you saw on
the monitor during the test.
