I don't have any experience with that, but I wanted to wish you all the best.
I hope that they find out what is going on with Rachel- and that it isnt as
bad as all the ideas that must be running through your head. ((hugs))Please
let us know what they find out.

Hello group,
My daughter Rachel (age 12) had an appointment with a pediatric
neurologist on Wednesday. She has reflux and IBS, and they "think" she has
cyclical vomiting syndrome. Since December she has been having terrible
headaches always on the left side of her head. They come on
suddenly..usually in early AM and last 12-24 hrs. They have been very
disabling...she vomits, is very tired, cannot eat, is sensitive to light
and
sound and VERY cranky. We have assumed this is a migraine she saw her
pediatrician in Jan and Feb. and when she saw her pediatric GI in March she
suggested a pediatric neurologist for the CVS and the migraines.
The doctor was very nice and Rachel really liked her. She gave us a
migraine medication (Zomig) to try. The scary part is she found that Rachel
has decreased reflexes (DTR's) on the right..both arm and leg, and a
positive Babinski reflex on the right. The Babinski is when they stroke the
bottom of the foot and the toes curl under. Rachel's left toes curled down
but her right foot the toes separated and the big toe pointed UP!
She offered no real explanation but wants to do a brain MRI and a EEG as
soon as she can. We are now waiting for the insurance to approve these
tests. I Really have NO IDEA what this means???? I do however have a
terrible feeling of dread...I cannot explain why. I wanted to update you
all
yesterday , but i just could not put this is writing. I am trying very hard
to not take this too seriously..but I am on pins and needles. Any ideas on
what I can expect? I am so hopeful that there is a simple explanation for
this, but this terrible feeling of dread keeps coming up....
