I'm also really sorry to hear about your friend. I
used to be suicidal as a child. But I haven't been
since probably 10 years old, at the latest, 15. I
can't remember, exactly.
There were several suicides in my family, and i think
i got out of the chemical imbalance by a change of
attitude and lifestyle. i don't know that either, but
that's how it seems to me.
I agree with what kathy said though... the person
probably did not do that just because of the one
incident (or the one person)... it's a lot deeper and
more complicated than that... but it's important and
usually best for everyone around if we take care of
ourselves. it's not selfish to do so... it's just
healthy.
it's not always easy to take care of ourselves, and
sometimes taking care of ourselves means taking care
of others... (i'm thinking of my grandmother... she's
not so well, and spending time with her is important
to me. unfortunately i won't be in town long, but one
of the reasons i came back is because i really wanted
to see her... if she can enjoy some good memories,
that's really important. -- anywas, that's off track)
keep writing to our group as often as you need to...
