Hi Sue...
Welcome to our group! You won't find your friends here dropping you like
flies, because I think we have all been there with our families, former
friends, employers, etc. that we were friends with BEFORE RSD. At least, I
know I can totally relate to that. My former BF dropped me, got tired of me
complaining and could not understand how my foot could be driving me so
crazy! Well, in the end I found the best of friends, and compassionate
understanding ones, in this group and a few others. I also can relate to
having multiple casts...research has shown that casts, long-term casting
particularly, as well as ice, can dramatically increase the likelihood that
one will develop RSD as a result of an injury to a limb. I went through
multiple casts because my incompetent former doctor kept changing the casts,
thinking that they were the cause of my crazy-making pain...I would find
myself trying to remove them in my sleep (when I could sleep!). Write any of
us anytime...this is a great group with people who DO care! Love, Carolyn in
CA (BTW, I used to go to the bike rally at Sturgis in the Blacks Hills area
years ago when I lived in the Midwest - small world!).
