1. NFA Launches New Website Address: To help people find the NFA online, and to generate more recognition for fibromyalgia, the National Fibromyalgia Association has launched a new website address. You can now access the NFA’s website at http://www.TheFibromyalgiaAssociation.org/ or continue to use http://www.fmaware.org/

2. Advancing Our Cause: Thank you to all those who continue to give their time, energy and talents to support and advance the fibromyalgia cause, despite their own health challenges and the dire economic conditions facing our country.  (Click here to read more)

3. Are You Taking Your Medication as Prescribed? According to the National Council on Patient Information and Education, many patients are not taking their medicines as prescribed. This can lead to unnecessary disease progression, reduced functional abilities, a lower quality of life, and even death. Click here for a report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that includes tips for consumers.

4. Campaign Reaches 237 Million People: The National Fibromyalgia Association’s Fibromyalgia Awareness Day outreach efforts have reached an audience of more than 237 million people to date. (Click here for details)

5. Federally Funded Health Centers: Hundreds of federally funded health centers nationwide—including nearly 1,000 in the state of California alone— offer a variety of health services. The centers are open to individuals with and without insurance and the fees are based on income level. Click here for more information, including the location of a health center near you.

6. Online Poll Results: Did you participate in Fibromyalgia Awareness Day this May? The responses are in to the NFA’s latest online poll question: fifty-six percent of respondents said “yes” and 42 percent said “no.” (Two percent of visitors did not provide a response.)
