1. Fibromyalgia and Anger: Researchers recently published findings on the impact of anger on FM pain. Click here for more about these findings and tips to adjust your anger management style—and decrease the pain.


2. Online Poll Results: Have you ever had an overnight evaluation at a sleep lab? Thirty-nine percent of the respondents said “yes” and 61 percent said “no” in the NFA’s April online poll question. Fibromyalgia Center Celebrates 2nd Anniversary: The Fibromyalgia Research and Education Center at California State University, Fullerton — one of only a few centers of its type in the U.S.—recently celebrated its two-year anniversary with An Evening to Remember, Embrace & Celebrate. 4. California NeuroAlliance Conference: Representatives from the NFA and 11 other nonprofit organizations recently attended the 10th annual California California NeuroAllianceNeuroAlliance Conference. This year’s program addressed issues surrounding access to appropriate and affordable healthcare, as well as critical issues for people living with chronic illness. Click here to learn more.


5. New FM Medication Available: Savella™, the third medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of fibromyalgia, is now available by prescription. For more information, click here.


6. Fibromyalgia Wellness Project: A new experimental symptom reduction program for fibromyalgia sponsored by the National Institutes of Health will become available June 1 for a limited number of participants. The Web-based intervention program uses online self-monitoring and individualized feedback to help users discover how they can reduce their symptoms. Click here for full news release.

8. Online Membership Update: NFA membership provides many benefits to members.
