ARTICLES, EVENTS, SOLUTIONS More new articles

Q & A with Dr. R. Paul St. Amand
Dr. St. Amand answers scores of questions about his theory of Fibromyalgia's effect at the cellular level (he refers to ME/CFS & FM as "two names, one disease") and details of the Guaifenesin Protocol, which he believes helps the body to deal with it.

Lack of Stomach Acid - Hypochlorhydria - Can Cause Lots of Problems
UK-based holistic fatigue specialist Sarah Myhill, MD, explains this condition, particularly common in ME/CFS/FM, and why in persons with heartburn it is often mistaken for too much stomach acid (GERD).

PTSD Trial Now Recruiting
Columbia University is now recruiting Post Traumatic Stress Disorder patients for a study of serotonin & stress system interactions. Compensation includes up to 6 months of outpatient treatment.

  RESEARCH ABSTRACTS More new abstracts

UK genomic profilers identify 7 ME/CFS subsets with different constellations of symptoms and differing severity
Collaborative research at four universities found differential expression of 88 genes in ME/CFS patients vs. normal blood donors; then identified seven genetic ME/CFS subsets involving different symptom sets and severity.

Belgian experts suspect exertion-related ME/CFS physiological subsets
Analysis of three factors may differentiate ME/CFS patients with reduced effort capacity from those with reduced effort tolerance, a distinction that may guide customized treatment.

  WEEKLY INSPIRATION

"Instead of a trap door, what about a trap window?
The guy looks out it, and if he leans too far, he falls out. Wait. I guess that's like a regular window."
- Jack Handey

A Friend Who Cares
"The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing, not curing, not healing and face with us the reality of our powerlessness; that is a friend who cares." - Henri Nouwen
