  FOUNDER'S CORNER October 24, 2007

 Don't be SAD this Winter
We've suspected for some time that Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS patients suffer disproportionately from seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Our recent Question of the Week only proved the point, with 81% of respondents admitting to bouts with the winter blues. Many of us have found relief in bright light therapy over the years, but the truth is that light box compliance tends to wane after a month or so.

Q&A With Pain & Fatigue Researcher Daniel J Clauw, MD
An hour wasn't nearly enough time for Dr. Clauw to answer all the questions Fibromyalgia & ME/CFS patients asked during the Live Chat Event on October 12.

Marly SilvermanMeet Marly Silverman - Helping FM/ME/CFS Patients to Thrive
Marly Silverman is the founder and beloved spirit of the patient support organization called P.A.N.D.O.R.A. - created in 2001 to meet local needs in her Florida community, and by 2007 able to muster a volunteer army as co-sponsor of the 8th biannual IACFS/ME Conference.

Don't Miss the Live Q&A with Dr. David Bell, MD, Friday Nov 2 - 3-4 pm PST in the ImmuneSupport.com Chat Room
Meet Dr. Bell, who has been a faithful champion of ME/CFS/FM patients for more than 20 years - and now sees medical research at a crossroads that may mean today's generation of children will see this spectrum of illnesses "as infrequently as we now see persons with leprosy."

  WEEKLY INSPIRATION

"I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons."
- Douglas Adams

The Choice for a New Beginning
Many of us with chronic pain have been faced with a new beginning and a new direction. Our injuries have dictated that our lives in some shape or form be altered or changed. Many have shouted out in anger, "I want my old life back." While others have come to realize this truly could be a new beginning. This can be a chance to move in directions never dreamed possible. A chance to use the many talents we have been unaware of...the beginning of a new way of life. One where we can know ourselves and others like never before.

From Living With Chronic Pain One Day At A Time by Mark Allan Zabawa.
