This is the descriptor for an Adult prophy going back to 2005

D1110 Prophylaxis – Adult

The ADA description, "Removal of plaque, calculus and stains from the tooth
structures in the permanent and transitional dentition. It is intended to
control local irrigational factors."

Prior to that, CDT 4 descriptor

D1110 Prophylaxis – Adult

The ADA description. "A dental prophylaxis performed on transitional or
permanent dentition that includes

Scaling and/or polishing to remove coronal plaque, calculus and stains."

Do you think this means that someone can do a coronal polish and callit a
prophy????? seems to me that could be the case. What do ye say??
