Re: [RDHTalk] Re: electric toothbrushes battle is on

I don't like the sonicare, but my boss does.  I think it's too much of a vibration.  I prefer the Oral-B because it's small head is much like the polishing cup we use.  The bottom line, I think, is how you use the instrument of choice.  Some people are really looking for a way to get out of flossing and we all know that small piece of string truly works the best!

-Just thought I'd give my 2 cents worth.  Have a great day!

Oh my goodness, Jo Ann, your response sounds like it came from my mouth! I agree completely.
I think a manual toothbrush is highly effective, IF used properly and if it isn't too big. What is with these toothbrushes looking like they were intended for King Kong? A TB that big just bumps into soft tissue and is highly ineffective. I also like a manual toothbrush with extra long bristles at the tip, all the better to reach the DB of the last molar.
I recommend the Sonicare over the Oral-B as I am concerned that the action of the Oral-B can contribute to recession and abrasion in the hands of a "scrubber." The Sonicare is fairly ineffective if too much pressure is applied, saving the tissue.
Anyway, rather than repeat your comments, I'll just say again...I agree!
