Q--we pay our staff on the 5th and 20th of each month. If one of the days falls
on a
weekend, do we need to give each worker a post-dated check a day early, or can
we pya
them on monday?

A--the best approach is to pay them on Monday, but you need to make sure you
have clearly
wirtten policy stating that a payday falls on a weekend or holiday, employees
willbe paid on
the net business day.

On a personal note: I woked in an office with 4 dentists 2 FT RDH's and several
front off
personnel and assistants. The policy there was that if payday feel on a Sat you
were paid
friday, if it feel on a sunday, you were paid monday. It was consistend and it
worked.
