It has been the cry of our hearts for many years..."what has
happened to the RBTI?" At times we felt we were almost alone in the
RBTI work. We got many calls from clients who had been to a tester
somewhere and the numbers were interpreted wrong, the client was
worse because of wrong calciums or wrong dietary recommendations.
We have been teaching the Reams and doing Retreats since the
early 80's. We are sticklers for accuracy. We've seen some people
harmed by wrong application of the RBTI.
One lady sent me #s from a tester out East. She said he told
her according to her #s she was almost in perfect health. She wanted
my interpretation. I refused. First of all, I didn't know if he had
proper equipment, proper color cards, if his meters were calibrated,
or if he was reading the colors correctly. When I looked at her #s I
saw some serious concerns. I suggested she get more numbers run. I
referred her to a tester I knew was accurate, or offered that we
would do it for her. Several weeks later, she told me she decided to
follow the original tester's recommendation since his analysis was so
positive. Eighteen months later, she died of a brain tumor.
This is a shame to the RBTI and no glory to the Lord
I got a lab from a "tester". She said she had some health problems
and although she was still taking the minerals and drinking lemon
water, wondered if I'd help her get back on track. She is critically
low on potassium and taking Mg in 3 products. She is acidic and
taking Vitamin C and eating grapefruit. She's taking 27 other
products that are not matched with her numbers. This is a tester!!!
Dr. Joe Manthei retired from this work in 1999 and gave us
his mailing list. We are astounded at the response from Dr. Joe's
mailing. To date we've sent out 3500 cards. Almost half of them
came back with a note... "Where is there a tester in my area?" There
are many requests for qualified testers.
So in 1999 we started the Promise Qualification Organization
(PQO) to standardize the Reams. (See Qualification) We do a simple
screening process of the tester...checking the lab equipment, color
cards, reagents, and a simple exam to evaluate the accuracy of the
interpretation. We are only looking for very basic information as
Reams and Dr. Joe taught it. Last month we evaluated three testers
who did not have the foggiest idea what to do with the ureas. Yet
they had taken a course somewhere or read someone's book
that "taught" them to do Reams testing. This is worrisome. Thank
goodness all three of these testers are all open to some "coaching"
to learn the correct information. Last winter we talked to two
ladies who took "three levels of Reams training." Not one of them
knew how foods affected the numbers.
To date, there is not any accurate printed material "out
there" on the RBTI since Dr. Joe retired. We have published a manual
with all the information from Dr. Joe and Doc in its original state
as was taught in the seminars. This manual is available at this time
to students who sit in our classes.
The RBTI manual is NOT designed to be used alone in an attempt to
learn to be a tester. (Dr. Joe and Pam felt that--even after selling
the correspondence course for a time--that was not the way to learn
this program well using a correspondence without actual class/hands
on teaching). With Dr. Joe's endorsement, we have combined the
correspondence materials and his Manuals and are making his materials
available after the testers have a "feel" for the RBTI. Dr. Joe
receives royalties off all sales. As time goes, more and more
materials will be edited and reproduced and made available.
One more note: We will not discuss, defend or justify ourselves vs
others who are intending to do RBTI work. We learned the program
from Doc in a practical effective way. We teach it with the Bible to
tie in the spiritual to the numbers.
We pray for unity and standardization and truth. We want no part in
any strife or division or envy or dissention. It's time. Lets all
move forward, communicate and walk in the love the Lord intended.
It is our prayer that we can be unified for the glory of the Lord and
the healing of the people...for the Glory of the Lord God the Father
that Jesus Christ His Son, may be Glorified
and that we each one walk in the Holy Spirit
as we endeavor to do His work.
Michael & Su Aberle
Background...Michael & Su Aberle. Promise Outreach.
You wrote, "Who are you…tell us about yourselves."
Su Aberle is a Nurse, a Certified Nutritional Counselor, a
Nutripath, Biochemist and a Digestive Enzyme Specialist. In the late
70's and early 80's, she studied the Biological Theory of Ionization
from the master himself, Doc Carey Reams (and Dr. Joseph Manthei who
taught for him the last nine years of his life). Su took all the
courses offered,
1. A }
2. B }
3. C } A,B,C,D are correlated with Doc's 1-8
4. D }
5. Backyard Gardening
6. The Cooking Conference with Doc and Pam Manthei
7. Anatomy I
8. Anatomy II
9. Home Care Course (Retreat training) + 3 years of training and
interning at the retreats in Pennsylvania.
10. + Multiple classes with Dr. Joe during and since his time in PA…
including all the retreat classes and Pam's video cooking class.
Su did nine years of "coaching" with Dr. Joe Manthei and Doc
himself. We paid them a fee each time she called them to reimburse
them for their time and in honor of their knowledge. Su's philosophy
was that this "coaching" was a vital part of her education with the
Reams numbers. Su says, "I learned more about the Reams in coaching
and running the retreats with Doc and Dr. Joe than in class." Note:
In the early 80's Su and her husband Mike started doing Reams
retreats in their home. Since that time they have been involved with
seminars, retreats and a busy outpatient practice in Illinois,
Wisconsin, and Missouri.
Dr. Manthei attended some of the Aberle's retreats to watch, critique
and teach. His comment when he left was, "you're doing it exactly
like Doc and I did."
In 1981, Doc and Dr. Joe met to discuss "the missing link" with
digestion affecting the numbers. Dr. Joe attended Dr. Howard
Loomis's seminar. Dr Loomis was the founder of the "Ness" Enzyme
Company. (Since that time, he sold Ness intending to retire but when
Ness reformulated his products, widespread reports were "the enzymes
are no longer as effective." In 1984, Dr. Loomis started a new
company in WI. After several years of Dr. Joe's encouragement, Su
started attending Dr. Loomis's conferences and remains in close touch
with his work and research. Su is an Advanced Associate of Dr.
Howard Loomis, Jr, D.C. as an Advanced Digestive Enzyme Specialist.
Su says the physiology of Dr. Loomis' work matches closely with Dr.
Reams' work. She draws many parallels in the two programs.

"DOC"
He loved the Lord, he loved his family, he loved walking thru
the "work" the way God showed him. He loved the soil, the foods.
His vision was to feed the people. Who was he? A great man? I do
believe so. He was a grandfatherly type. He was comfortable to talk
to, fun loving, and had a sense of humor. He touched lives; he
touched the children.
At 82 yrs old he and his wife Bonnie were blest with a baby,
Stephanie. Because of his love for children, he fostered his
daughter, Latasha. He also had three grown children and
grandchildren. Mike & Su are in active contact with Bonnie,
Stephanie, and Betty and Katherine.
When he died he had the skin of a baby and a healthy shock of
thick white hair.
Doc commissioned Dr. Joseph Manthei to teach for him. Doc would come
to each class, answer questions and teach from the Bible. Doc's
knowledge was God given, his text was the Bible. We were privileged
to take all the courses taught. The presentation was an amazing
picture of the human body and how diet and supplementation affect the
chemistry for each individual.
Mike & Su Aberle
Doc kept it simple. He walked into class with no visual aids
and his only text, his Bible. He encouraged us to think. He didn't
just give answers. He made us find the answers. He lifted up Jesus
as Lord, the only Healer. Doc Reams had a gift of the word of
knowledge. Doc saw into the human body. He saw the Lord's healing
using nutrition, minerals, and common sense.
He touched my life...
In the early 1980's, I called Doc to see if there was
anything we could do to help. We'd just heard he'd just gotten out
of jail having been arrested for "practicing medicine without a
license." (He said, "I didn't give shots, I didn't give drugs, I
didn't do cobalt or chemotherapy or radiation. I fed the people
nutritious foods and ministered to them".) He said to me, "Honey,
don't try to fight the AMA. It's the most powerful union in the
world. Don't feel badly for me. I'm having the time of my life. Two
men accepted Christ while I was in jail!"
At the last, he said to me, "I have taught you what I know.
Now go, be taught of the Lord." To this day, I respect and esteem
Doc Reams for the gift he was given and what he shared with me, but I
know his knowledge was God-given. That's why I give all the glory to
God.
Mike says, "At Su's third class, Doc told Dr. Manthei and me. `We've
taught hundreds of people this RBTI. I've only met three who see the
picture. Su is one of them.' My response was, "It would have to be
a gift from the Lord, she's really not that smart."
The Reams work today
In July 1999, Dr. Joseph Manthei retired from the RBTI work.
To clear the rumors:
• Dr. Manthei did take two missions trips to India. He was not
running from the AMA/FDA.
• He did have some inquiries during the years he did RBTI which
developed into nothing.
• He did not retire as a response to this.
• He is gainfully employed (he does not run a roller rink!) and
has been an asset and has been involved with family and community.
In July 1999 Dr. Joe and Pam turned over the Human Health
part of RBTI to Promise Outreach to continue with the work. This
included his entire mailing list, the All Spices & Herbs recipe, Dr.
Joe and Pam's books, and his blessing to continue to teach and
continue the retreats (as we'd been doing). We have continued since
that time to sell the Manthei's products sending them royalties for
products and all their copyrighted materials. Since that time, Dr.
Joe has said that no one else has his permission to copy and sell his
materials.
Dr. Manthei's (and our) concern about the "lack of qualified
testers" prompted the Promise Qualification Organization founded in
the fall of 1999.
In the winter of 2003-2004, we got a call from some of Doc's
family. They are collecting and writing Doc's History from a
personal standpoint.
Following that, we were contacted by Jon C. Frank. Jon
joined International Ag Labs in March 2001. He works as the Office
Administrator and a Soil Consultant. Jon has been passed
the "mantle" from Dr. Skow who has been in the forefront with Doc
Reams Soil work for many years.
In June 2004, one of Doc's family came to visit us. They had
tears in their eyes when they came to the door. They said, "I feel
like I'm coming home. This is just like home-- gravel lanes (ours
was dirt ruts) and the mountains. But Promise is so beautiful."
They were overwhelmed that the vision and Retreats at Promise
were "what Doc had dreamt of."
All the family members we've met and spoken with have deep
loving memories of Doc and still grieve his death. He wasn't
perfect. He was very human. He made some mistakes as we all do. He
told us all "do as I say, not as I do." And (related to caring for
your body), he would say, "it won't keep you out of Heaven; it'll
just get you there quicker."
A gal who was Doc's nurse the last years of his life is a
dear friend and in close contact with us. She continues to farm
highly mineralized produce and is fulfilling Doc's dream taking the
food to Manhattan three times a week to "Feed the Children."
