The RAV-food group (pronounced like "raw-food"), is for those who enjoy a minimally moderated discussion (one that's light on rules), and like to be a part of a supportive community of people who eat or are exploring a raw or partially Raw Animal and Vegetable (RAV) food diet. The RAVF diets evolved from paleolithic, or hunter-gatherer nutrition, and are generally composed of foods that our pre-agriculture ancestors ate, including large quantities of raw vegetables (possibly juiced), raw meat, raw eggs and raw fish, and smaller servings of raw fruit and nuts. They also include significant amounts of animal and vegetable fats which for some, like those who adhere to the Primal Diet of Aajonus Vonderplanitz, consist largely of raw dairy. These diets are considered by many to be the proper, healthful nutrition for modern-day optimal health and recovery from illness. This group is open to all who are sincerely interested in these diets, and not to those who wish to criticize the RAVF diets, their basic premises or those who follow them.
