Using pulse diagnosis, specifically Shen’s systems model, the left side alludes to the state of prenatal qi/jing; while the right side indicates the state of post-natal qi.  Where a weak, deep, left sided pulse may indicate poor-protoplasm- poorly-put together.

Our Jing is so precious, teaching our patients of its existence, purpose, and functions can lead to transformational experience of health.

Maciocia states that our essence is best preserved by striving for balance in our daily lives.  We can preserve jing by willingly adopting a moderate and harmonious lifestyle, through the engagement of breathing exercises, qi gong, tai chi, and yoga.

I have heard Will state how feeling a very weak , deep left sided pulse , would indicate for a person to "rest, quickly"  (the words of Dr. Shen)

-  We can use tonic herbs to build Jing, following the Three treasures model, herbs can help build Jing/Qi/Shen

Searching for other methods of cultivating Jing,  i began to think of the Eyes.

the Nei Jing states in chapter 80 of the ling shu, that the eyes are the manifestation of our Shen, the eyes serve the heart, that the refined energies of all the Zang organs , the essences of all the Zang organs can be seen in the eyes.

Can we use the eyes to access the Jing?  Shall we use our eyes, to open up our perceptual point of view, to cultivate the Shen.  Our Shen acting as our spiritual capacity, it allows us to observe life from different perspectives, our Shen allows us to arise from the mundane aspects of life, to bring greater consciousness to our actions, so that we can awaken and transform through a willingness to adopt a moderate and harmonious lifestyle.  All functioning to help in the conscious process of cultivation of jing.

This appears to be a back door method.  Never the less, a method.  Working the three treasures model back wards,  from Shen to Qi to Jing.

I have been playing with some very specific eye drills for the past few years.  My personal experience is that they have provided me a tool/ a process that allowed me to gain a much greater sense of focus, clarity, and volition over my conscious self.  It has allowed me to unlock more of my potential.  Working with my eyes has provided an entrance to the shen, qi, and jing.

Any thoughts???
