Hi Dan -
Sounds like you are doing well and are in a creative spirit.
Here are some of my thoughts over the years. Early experiences in
Chinese medicine for me involved the 3 treasure point of view. I
studied the subject with Ron Teeguarden off and on between 1980 and
2003.His web site may still have some good material. In essence: Ling
Zhi for Shen, Ren Shen for Qi, He Shou Wu for jing...take the single
agent and meditate. According to Liu I Ming, the stars are the shen of
heaven, the sun is the qi of heaven and the moon is the jing of
heaven.
Warmly,
Will
Three Treasures Analysis
ƒÍ Look in the eyes - what arises in you? How is the focus and light
refraction? This is Shen.
ƒÍ Look at the cheeks how is the Qi?
ƒÍ Look at the ears and under the eyes, what is the Jing status?
Pulse and the Three Treasures
Pulse Qualities -
* Root is Jing
* Width is blood
* Force and amplitude are Qi and Yang
Pulse and the Three Treasures
Qi Xu pulses
* Deeper
* Empty
* Forceless
* Whole right side weak
* These should be confirmed by the standard stellium of Qi Xu
signs and symptoms
Pulse and the Three Treasures
Shen Pulses
* Vibration superficially
* Changing rate at rest (stability)
* Slippery in the left distal position
* Use the compass method on the heart position - go to the
indicated element-organ and perform the compass again...this
method, as you know, has an extraordinary impact on the Shen.
Pulse and the Three Treasures
Jing Pulses
* No root
* Weak Chi positions
* Weak left side pulse
Interpretation
* If the Shen and Jing are good and the Qi is diminished
* then it is the result of lifestyle, and you must supplement Qi.
Interpretation
* If the Qi and Jing are Good but Shen is diminished, then there is
some spiritual problem, or some wrong actions weighing on the Shen
* Supplement, and clarify Shen
Interpretation
* If the Shen and Jing are good but the Jing is diminished
* the problems this individual deals with are likely familial
Interpretation
* If Shen is bright and Qi or Qi and Jing are diminished
- Shen is usurping the other treasures
Interpretation
* If Qi is good but Shen and Jing are diminished, the person leads a
good lifestyle taking care of self, but there is insufficient Jing to
support Shen.
Interpretation
* If the Jing is good but the Qi and Shen are diminished, then
lifestyle or postnatal events are affecting Shen.
The Subtle Ling is the Truth of the Earlier Heaven. Then, what
transforms the Grand Immaculate by attaining silence transmutes into
the Subtlety.
