Hello,
This is my first post here. I'm enrolled in a pulse diagnosis class with Joseph
Adams at AIMC.
I have a question about the difference between a healthy and floating lung
pulse. In the first
class with Joseph I learned that a healthy lung pulse should be felt most
clearly at the most
superficial of the five depths.
In "Pulse Diagnosis", Li Shi Zhen describes the floating pulse by saying "it can
be felt when
light pressure is applied to the skin (level), and feels like a piece of wood
floating on the
water."
What I infer from the "piece of wood floating on the water" description is that
when you press
on a piece of wood in water, it submerges but then floats right back up. So, is
that what a
floating lung pulse feels like? How is that different than a healthy lung
pulse?
Thanks for your help.
