> Did you receive enough
training in pulse diagnosis in your core curriculum at acupuncture school?
Absolutely not!
I had 1 class on the 20 something
qualities of pulses and what they indicate. The teacher gave us no indication of
what each of these pulses actually felt like. We just learned the names given
and indications.
Our clinic gave barely any attention given
to pulse. Many of my instructors were straight out of China and would
do a 2 second pulse to find if it was slippery or wiry. (They were all either
slippery or wiry). If I felt a strange feeling pulse, I would call them to feel
it and they might say deep or something equally brilliant.
I was lucky enough to practice with
someone who learned from Leon Hammer at the school in Gainesville, Florida. She
taught me quite a bit.

poll for PulseDiagnosis
I would like to extend the question here in the forum.
Is there sufficient didactic pulse diagnosis training in the core curriculums
of the schools?
