Hi Will,
Some time ago we spoke about a progression of treatments for hypothyroidism depending on the patient's severity and chronology. You suggested that many people with borderline hypothyroidism can be greatly helped with interventions other than synthroid for instance, including: homeopathics, then Chinese herbs, then glandulars.
I have a colleague prescribed synthroid 6-7 years ago under these circumstances, who also has been receiving treatment for type 1 diabetes for the last ten years. She would like to wean herself off the synthroid---which I know can be a difficult reality after long-term use.
Her endocrinologist is working with her to this end and has cut the synthroid dosage from 75 to 50. She has been experiencing some fatigue and a little chest tightness, but overall feels just fine.

Any prescriptive thoughts per our long ago conversation that you might offer would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
