Hi KD,
The expectation is that after palpating, or needling the xi cleft, the tai yang manifestation in the pulse will subside, pain will reduce, and range of motion will increase. Should this happen with the xi cleft, we would then build the treatment out to include a Divergent or TMM based on the chronology of the injury.

When a patient has had chronic pain for example (10 years) and
demonstrates a six channel pulse for example (Tai Yang); what immediate
affect on the pulse might acupuncture have? I realize this is really
case specific, but what might be a reasonable expectation if any?
