I didn't download the whole article. But, the spongy sensation of dampness
in the interstitium that is palpated prior to reaching the vessel has
hypothyroidism as one possible correlation. And, it is very common. The
Broda Barnes test is the method I am familiar with for the purpose of
identifying subclinical hypothyroidism.
