Re: [PulseDiagnosis] Case study for assessment-Kelly Welch

Kelley:

I found the tongue data - are there red prickles anywhere? Also, is there a relationship between the ear infection and the one-sided body pain? How is her sleep, sweat, and thirst? With cotton pulses I like to find out where the Wei Qi is stagnant. See acupuncturetoday for the nighttime's wei  qi cycle diagnosis (it is the controlling cycle k-ht-lu-lr-sp compare just like entry-exit....then look at the compass model for arriving at the treatment of the organ where the qi is blocked. The next issue of AT will have the daytime wei qi cycle treatment.

As an initial impression on the data presented:
Also, the process of separating the clear from the turbid as a method of creating wei qi is useful - there are arguments even in the Ling Shu. However, you can use Dong Yuan style needling with a focus on the SP-St or, you can use moxibustion on the shu points for the SI-LI-Lr and then Du 14....this can make cotton resolve more quickly than treating the lungs, or performing gua sa in the upper back if those strategies are not working well.

With so much cotton, blood deficiency and blood stasis, I think her postnatal production of ying and wei; qi and blood are compromised due to an insufficiency of yuan qi. Moxibustion on sp 3, k3, st36, and li11 will assist this along with some very high quality ren shen.

Tongue:
sublingual distension +3 (1-5)
