I was part of a different support group, but I went back to my N and lost track
of it. My situation is a bit weird. I met someone online, a 'Friend' and I'm
married. Things got out of hand, and this person tricked me into falling for
him. He's frighteningly smart, clever, well spoken, and unfortunately for me,
the only person I've met who likes the EXACT same things I do: Same exact music,
movies, gets all of my references and jokes, same dry sense of humor....But it's
been 5 months of mind games, gaslighting, insults, being ignored, being
rejected, then being begged to come back, so the cycle can continue. Last
month, he made me 6 personal mixtapes and sent me his walkman. He's one of
those sensitive, pretentious poet types. The sad irony is, I don't think he
really feels anything, I think he lives vicariously through music and his
writing. He has a girlfriend, who he seems to blame for everything, he just
finally got a job (ice cream truck driver) that he's held for 4 months, "a
record" for him(he's 33), he's up all night, drinking, and almost seemed to be
bragging on his Myspace 'status update' that the cops showed up after his
girlfriend called the police because he was drunk and screaming in her face. He
has 2 kids, one of them with a terminal illness, and he has told me he feels
detached, and regrets having them. Anyway, he started messing with my head
again, so I threw the tapes in the garbage, and blocked him. For a month he
tried to get in touch with me, watching my profile everyday. I relented, and
took him back AS A FRIEND. He was livid about the tapes, but pretended to
forgive me, so he could get even, in my opinion. I was nice, genuine,
supportive, and suddenly.....nothing. My letters went unanswered. Finally, I
got frantic, asking him what was wrong. Then, fed up once again, I told him
off, deleted my account, made 5 new ones, each of them being discovered by him.
He sent me some insults, and a threatening, harassing statement, which I sent to
Myspace when I filed a complaint. Not sure if they're actually going to do
anything about it, though. He's a monster. He makes me ill.
