I'm part of a group which creates festivals, and some of us also do
energy healing. We're thinking of combining these interests in the
creation of a healers' festival, if there's enough interest.

Yahoo groups are nice, but there's just no substitute for meeting
people face to face and actually sitting down with each other to
compare notes on what we do. If this sounds like something that
you'd be interested in, speek up and we can get the ball rolling
towards making this festival a reality.

We currently organize the SummerFyre Festival. We're also organizing
a Nebraska Pagan festival, and helping with a Drumming Festival, as
well as providing decorating and fire-tending services for other
gatherings.

As for my healing work, I do singing bowls while my partner does
Reiki. I don't just sit there and play a tone. I use the bowls to
feel into people's energies and actively atune the energies. First I
play a bowl on the chakras and listen to variations in the tone to
assess what is happenning in the chakras, then I use a variety of
bowls to get all the energies flowing right. I use metal bowls
rather than crystal bowls because metal bowls have more personality
and allow for two way communiocation, whereas crystal bowls just
play a beautiful tone with much more indifference to their
surroundings. Also, I don't believe in playing specific pre-set
tones for each chakra because different people expierience the tones
differently so what works for one person might not work for another.
Instead i tend to play the bowls that best seem like they will get
the job done. It's all very intuitive. It's very much my own system.
Just as my partner (a master of various forms of Reiki) has
developed her own system to coordinate with my way of playing bowls.
It's profoundly more effective than either system alone.
