Dr David Teplica is a plastic surgeon in Chicago who specializes in this technique. He would most likely be a great source for a referral. He also sees clients from other locales very routinely.

I went to Dr. Teplica years ago for facial wasting.  He convinced me that abdominal fat would be a lasting replacement for facial fat in HIV patients because it "wasn't the same type of fat" therefore, it wouldn't waste away.  Being desperate at the time, and believing him because he was a doctor, I spent $7000. for him to take fat from my abdomen and put it in my face through a canula technique.  Since I had no abdomen fat he went internally and took omentum (sp?) fat.  My face was a mess after the procedure, I had huge swelling from my temples, (which was the point of insertion for the canula) all the way to my cheeks.  After the swelling was gone from the procedure, so was all the fat.  My face looked worse than it did before the transfer.  He even had enough nerve to try to convince me to agree to a second procedure.  For another $7000 of course, which I did not do.  After that, I had 8 treatments of Sculptra, which was then called New Fill from another doctor in Chicago.  That was also a complete waste of money.  I have since had my face restored with BioAlcamid, and a couple touch-ups with PMMA.  That has worked beautifully for me with no complications.  David Teplica is not someone I personally think very highly of.  I know of 4 other patients who went to him at the same time I did and had the same procedure using fat transfer and it didn't work for them either.
