Re:Fat Transfer for facial wasting

"Has anyone had the "Fat Transfer" process for treating facial wasting.
It would seem to me that this would be the treatment that would
result in the least amount of side effects and would be the most cost
effective as the fat used to fill the face is from your own body and
thus the most unlikely to provoke any kind of adverse reaction in the
body."

I have not been very impressed by the results I have seen.   It may be that the "new" fat cells are just as susceptible to the old issues that they don't hold up.  It would be interesting to see if the long term results are better, now that drugs are more "lipo friendly."    There can be considerable pain from the donor site, as well, and often, there aren't very good donor sites in people with lipo.

By all means DO NOT allow the fat from a buffalo hump to be used in the face.  The results can be worse than the original problem.

While there is a certain poetry in using the body's own tissues, I would not consider this surgery when good injectables seem to do better, faster, and cheaper.

The only problem with this idea is that the fat would just tend to melt away again, especially if the cause of the depletion isn't somehow how addressed (i.e.,...
