Hi,
I have just moved to a new city and have a new Infectious Disease
specialist. After years of a Norvir, Fortovase, Videx EC, and Viread
combo, I begged for a new regimen that was easier to take with fewer
side effects. I have major lipodystrophy problems in face, neck,
abdomen, and buttocks, with wasting on limbs.
Anyway, this new doc put me on once-a-day dosing for Sustiva and
Truvada, one each, which replaced 14 pills over three dosings daily.
Other than a tremendous sedation about an hour after taking it at
bedtime, which has actually been a blessing helping me to get to
sleep, I haven't noticed any other ill effects. My constant diahrrea
from the earlier combination has almost ceased totally. The doc
tells me that work is being done to eventually combine Sustiva and
Truvada into one pill for once-a-day dosing, which sounds like a
miracle to me, since I started 10 years ago on 42 pills a day over 7
different dosings.
I was wondering if anyone has had experience with Sustiva and Truvada
combination therapy and how it went for you. My t-cells are up from
25 to 1030 over a 10 year period and my viral load was slightly
elevated from undetectable to 200 this last testing. I appreciate
any information you might give.
