RE: [PostmeningitisHeadache] Biggest Relief Yet....

I started acupuncture and let me tell you i thought i was going back in the hospital after my first session. I was in so much pain. It felt like war in my body. Awful. Each day got better though. However by my second session, my headaches were less intense if i had any at all the only thing i had was a little head pressure. Ear throbbing and eye pressure stopped most of my neck stiffness and pain had decreased. By my second session i was in almost no pain. I cant beleive the difference. I have two more sessions left and im hoping with the use of some herbs and treatment, i will feel normal and functioning again. Im deathly afraid of relapsing. But honestly Im feeling better now even before i got.

Subject: [PostmeningitisHeadache] Biggest Relief Yet....

Hello all,

It's been a while since I posted a message here, but I thought I'd check in to give you an update. In the last six months I have experienced the most significant improvement yet with my chronic head pain (from viral meningitis five years ago).

I basically took six month's "off" and didn't work - well, I worked on one small project that lasted a month, but otherwise I didnt. What I did do were three things that have all seemed to help.

1) Detox at an F.X. Mayr center in Austria (Lanserhof) for 1 week
2) 10-day Vipassana meditation course (10 days in silence with 10-12 hours of meditation per day)
3) 10-day Tantra Yoga retreat (this also included a cleanse and 2.5 days of silence)

The thing that had the biggest and most signifanct impact was the yoga retreat. There are several factors I believe: EYE YOGA -- this has helped A LOT!!!!!, and the breathing exercises.

I hope to return to do another retreat soon in Oct. perhaps since now I know that I have something that works and with any luck, and with continued practice, I will get rid of this problem for good.

Anyone else find any solutions that work? Please share them!

Hope everyone is having a great summer and having a good day!

Best,
Laura

This is great news. Thanks for sharing. I too have had a lot of relief from acupuncture. It's too bad it's so expensive, but it does work. I've tried it off...
