I took this extract from a magazine..which I liked very much.. Hope you all will also like it..

Sub : Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill.
When funds are low and the debts are high.
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

When care is pressing you down a bit.
Rest, if you must but don't quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns.
As everyone of us sometimes learn.
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.

Don't give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are.
It may be near when it seems so far:

We had been receiving repeated requests from many members that our group
mails were putting up too much load on their official mail servers.So,to
reduce the load on the servers the following changes have been made in
Group Settings:

1.No attachments will now be allowed.

2. The more emphasis will now be laid on healthy discussions on
particular Positive Topics.

3.The name of the group has also been changed from"Positive
Thinking_Meditation" to "PositiveThinkingAndMeditation"

4.In case,anybody wants to share some effective 'Power Point
Presentation'or some other material with lot of Pictures with the group
,please do so by adding such file in the 'FILES'section of the GROUP by
visiting group homepage.

I'm sure everybody  will co-operate , will enjoy healthy discussions and
other innovative activities will crop up to learn from each other.

MEDITATION-A PRACTICAL APPROACH



Much has been theoretically said about Meditation.So,Now let's start the
Practicals.The categorization of Meditation Techniques can be initially done in
two parts.First category consists of the techniques,using which, we can enter
the state of Meditation.Second category of techniques are those which are
practiced after entering the state of meditation using the techniques of
category I.

The techniques taken up in Category I are,therefore, simpler to understand and

Dear All,

Fortnightly 'Positive Thinking & Meditation' meeting started at 6:30PM sharp and
ended at 8:00PM.

1.In the beginning Positive News of the fortnight were discussed.

2.As many new people attended the meeting,the light was thrown on how to
inculcate positivity in one's life and how to convert  Negative Conversations
into Positive ones.
In fact,whenever and wherever,four to five people meet and discuss something
,most of the time their conversation might be negative.The group might be
finding faults with the working of people not present in the group.In such a
case our endeavour should be to turn the discussion into a positive one by
praising someone everybody knows.

This habit if developed will definitely grow positive traits in us and will help
in rooting out negativity from us.

3.A Group Meditation was then conducted.Mr.R.K.Gupta took the initiative to
conduct the Meditation for the first time.The steps of the Meditation were as
below:

Step1:    OOOM/OMMM
Step2:    BI:BO
Step3:    BB(10_____  1)
Step4:    Affirmations
Step5:    Nothing Doing

4.In the end Mr.Ram Iqbal Singh,a renowned political figure presented his
thoughts on how to remain positive through some practical experiences of his
life.

The meeting was attended by approximately 15 people.

Next Meeting will take place on 100606 at 6:30PM at Sewa Sadan,Khairabad
Lane,Swaroop Nagar,Kanpur,U.P.India

27th Nov.1995 from the scratch.

3.The Postings can consist of Book Reviews,e-books,Positive News from the
Newspapers,Quotations from celebrities,Uplifting Stories(including pure
vegeterian jokes)  & Experiences,Different Meditation Techniques and other
inspiring thoughts etc.

4.The jokes should be such that the sentiments of any community are not
unnecessarily hurt.Moreover,they should not be obscene in nature.

5.All the members can communicate with one another

6.The target of the group is to spread the awareness about Positive Thinking &

Explanation of Meditation Techniques_I




We categorized all the techniques of Basic Workshop(PTM Workshop-I) into three
categories viz.Category I-A,Category I-B and Category II.
Category I-A mainly consists of some techniques related to breathing,Viz.

#OOM/OOM               {Chanting of OM}
#BI:BO                        {Breathing in,Breathing Out}
#7:1::7:1
#B & N                    {Ballooning & Normalising}
#BtI                          {Breathing Through Infinite}


OOOM/OMMM:  During this step OM,the name of almighty,is repeated loudly by all
the members together.This step is further subdivided into two steps:-During the
first step,AU(O) is loudly spoken 2/3rd of the time and MM is spoken only 1/3rd
of the time , while during the second step,AU(O) is spoken only 1/3rd of the
time and MMM is repeated 2/3rd of the time.While we repeat MMM with closed
mouth,experience of  Bhramari Pranayama is witnessed.In Fact,whole of the
universe is said to be contained in the word OM.According to our Upanishads,word
OM is said to be formed wirh the help of Hindi alphabets 'aa''uu'and'mm'(Small
Matras).'a' stands for PARMATMA,'u'stands for JIVATMA and 'm' stands
forPRAKRITI.Since this small word contains the whole universe,this is the most
appropriate name of GOD.


 
 
BI:BO:   During this step,you just have to be aware that you are breathing
also.We are spending 24 hours of the day in attaining various goals, executing
all our important tasks .But,in the process we forget the most important
function of our body & that is breathing.We forget that if our breath stops,we
will  no more  be  part of this world,we will no more be part of this system.We
will no more be an achiever,we will no more be a go getter.
 
So,you have to be aware of the most important function(Breathing) of our body at
all times; while you are BREATHING IN and while you are BREATHING
OUT(BI:BO) .You can achieve this awareness if You start practicing it during 
Meditation Sessions.To achieve this,during the second step of you Meditation
practice,keep your eyes closed and Mentally repeat the following sentence again
& again:

Explanation of Meditation Techniques_I




We categorized all the techniques of Basic Workshop(PTM Workshop-I) into three
categories viz.Category I-A,Category I-B and Category II.
Category I-A mainly consists of some techniques related to breathing,Viz.

#OOM/OOM               {Chanting of OM}
#BI:BO                        {Breathing in,Breathing Out}
#7:1::7:1
#B & N                    {Ballooning & Normalising}
#BtI                          {Breathing Through Infinite}


OOOM/OMMM:  During this step OM,the name of almighty,is repeated loudly by all
the members together.This step is further subdivided into two steps:-During the
first step,AU(O) is loudly spoken 2/3rd of the time and MM is spoken only 1/3rd
of the time , while during the second step,AU(O) is spoken only 1/3rd of the
time and MMM is repeated 2/3rd of the time.While we repeat MMM with closed
mouth,experience of  Bhramari Pranayama is witnessed.In Fact,whole of the
universe is said to be contained in the word OM.According to our Upanishads,word
OM is said to be formed wirh the help of Hindi alphabets 'aa''uu'and'mm'(Small
Matras).'a' stands for PARMATMA,'u'stands for JIVATMA and 'm' stands
forPRAKRITI.Since this small word contains the whole universe,this is the most
appropriate name of GOD.


 
 
BI:BO:   During this step,you just have to be aware that you are breathing
also.We are spending 24 hours of the day in attaining various goals, executing
all our important tasks .But,in the process we forget the most important
function of our body & that is breathing.We forget that if our breath stops,we
will  no more  be  part of this world,we will no more be part of this system.We
will no more be an achiever,we will no more be a go getter.
 
So,you have to be aware of the most important function(Breathing) of our body at
all times; while you are BREATHING IN and while you are BREATHING
OUT(BI:BO) .You can achieve this awareness if You start practicing it during 
Meditation Sessions.To achieve this,during the second step of you Meditation
practice,keep your eyes closed and Mentally repeat the following sentence again
& again:

"BREATHING IN ,I KNOW I'M BREATHING IN;BREATHING OUT, I KNOW."

I had set out a long list of goals and things that I wanted to get done
today.  However, I woke up extremely late (and my husband said that he had
called me to wake me up, but I was very rude to him on the phone).  So, I
didn't take my daughter to daycare today - and thus, did not get everything
done that I wanted to accomplish today.  My husband is extremely upset that
our daughter did not go to daycare today, and that I did not get the list of
things I wanted to get done today done.  So, we've been fighting all day,
and it has put me in a rather sour mood.

I was going to send out a bunch of emails today to groups, but didn't get
that done either.  Plus, since my left hand has been numb (from my diabetes
- and my husband told me the other day that if I don't watch it, they will
have to amputate my hand.....yeah, just what I wanted to hear *sarcasm*), it
s been hard to type on the computer.  It takes me longer to type things up,
because I cannot feel what letters I am typing and make a lot of typos that
I need to correct.  UGH!!!

So, my plan for tomorrow is to catch up on email, I have a psych appointment
with my psychiatrist.  Take my daughter to and from daycare, and send out a
bunch of emails to my groups.  I hope you all understand.

It's been tough trying to catch up on emails since I got home from vacation,
but then when yahoo kicked me out of all my groups, and I had to deal with
that whole mess, and now the mess of my left hand being swollen and numb all
the time, I just don't make it to the computer like I used to.  I greatly
apologize.  Especially to those of you who have sent me personal emails that
I haven't gotten to yet.  I'm sorry.  My plan is to catch up on emails and
get everything sent out that I want to by Monday (hopefully before the
weekend.....but I'm saying Monday just in case).  So, again, I am terribly
sorry to those of you who have written me personal emails and I have not
gotten to them yet.  I am not avoiding you or not talking to you or anything
bad like that.....I've just had a lot on my plate lately.  I hope you
understand.

I look forward to getting back into the groove of things, and thank you so
much for allowing me back into your groups.  I really appreciate your
understanding.

I'm headed off to bed now.  So, I hope everyone has a great night, and I
will talk to you all tomorrow.
