Hello to yall. I am a 28 yo male who had surgery for my cyst on 10-11-
05. I have had no pain as of yet, but everything I am reading tell me
just wait, it will come. Great :-( The doctor told me it would be an
open wound. What should I be expecting.

Phil

UPDATE
It has now been 6 weeks since my surgery. All is well. I had a dull
ache for the first 5-6 days, but after that, nothing. My doc is
letting this heal as an open wound.

Once everyweek I would go in to see him and he would use a q-tip
(small wooden stick with cotton at the end of it) which had been
dipped in an 85% solution of phenol to swab out the inside of the
wound. The phenol chemically burns the skin.

The idea is to scar the wound area as much as possible. Because as I
an you all know, hair doesn't grow on a scar.

I have one last treatment and that will be then end of them.

Phil.

Hi Phil,

I just found this yahoogroup. I've been dealing with mine for over 10
years. It has started to happen a little more frequently. Finally
went to the doctor a few months ago and they want to schedule surgery.
After some looking around on the internet about the surgery I am
afraid to have it done. You last posted in 2005 so I am hoping you
are still around to give another update. Are you happy with the
surgery or would you advise against it? Have you had any recurrence?

If anyone else could chime in it would be greatly appreciated!

B-
