I'm fairly new to this support system. My symptoms are worse in the morning, getting me up as early as 4:00-5.00, etc. My feet and legs are my main problem with burning feet and tingling all the way up, back of my legs.
Recently noticing feet and hands feel swollen, and can tell my hands are slightly and stiff. When I get out of bed, most mornings...... my weight which is a mere 155, is going to pop them open. After taking my neurontin, a hour or so later, I sort feeling better. Definitely is a cycle and I'm recording it for my next visit to the neurologist late Oct. He had me on 3X a day, 600mg a day, and I was felling like a drug build up........ Felt lousy in many ways...... So on my own I decided to take one in the morning and one 12 hours later.
It's been almost two weeks now................ and I'm feeling much better, with discomfort for a short while in the mornings. I'm so confused as to what is causing my PN???? Are my symptoms related to it or to something else, called aging, osteo arthritis??????? When 70, so many other things come into play and with Medicare footing a limited care for patients, it seems Dr's aren't too interested in really solving your problem.
Hope you find a solution to yours soon.

progresses, it gets worse and worse. The next day the cycle repeats.
It's symetrical in BOTH feet.
Any ideas? I'm stumped and so are MD's. NOT A DIABETIC! Spine &
disks OK. EMG shows some nerve problem from sciatica in right leg
last year which does NOT account for BOTH feet.
EMG doc suggests vitamin B6 toxicity. Have been taking in excess of
200 mg for quite a while. I didn't know it can CAUSE PN but it can.
I've totally ceased B-6 but I read it might take 6-8 weeks or LONGER
for condition to begin to reverse.
The damage can be permanent but I hope mine isn't. I've only had
this PN since around February of 2003.
