I've been through this "next drug" list. In fact my enwest doctor has
a chart on his wall.
A number of the anti-seizure drugs have off lable effects that seem
to help people with nerve disorders. Some of them have small side
effects like dizziness and sleepiness but there are others that have
to be careful watched (blood tests and the like) to make sure they
are not harming your liver or as you found, your blood pressure. I
was on one that makes people's blood pressure drop.
It is most important with these meds that your doctor is paying
attention to your whole body and taking needed tests so problems that
might appear can be dealt with fast!
I hear you about the pressure causing pain. My right hand, where the
ulnar nerve is, is like that. I have had physical therapists work
with different feelings to "desenitize" (sp?) the nerve but to no
avail yet. Maybe that is what your doctor is trying to do?
Always talk to another doctor if you have aby questions.
good luck
