I have been on lyrica about three weeks now. I asked him to start me at the
lowest dosage which was 50mg. 3x's a day then work up as I was afraid of a
stomach upset. I am now on the 75's 3x's a day and we are decreasing the
neurontin. It is not a good idea from my understanding to go off neurontin if
you are on it and just suddenly use lyrica only. I am down to one pill a day of
the neurontin which is 800mg. It has absolutely been the best drug for me and I
am very excited about it. I can't drive to the grocery store and walk the store
without some discomfort but what has happened is when I get home and put my feet
up the pain soon goes away. I have severe neuropathy in my feet. I have more
energy which I have to be careful with or then I will have pain but no side
effects. If I sit in the recliner say in the afternoon for a little while I will
get a sleepy streak and that is the only tiredness I get. I have been told to
take as close to the time each day to develop a regimen of it working to its
potential. In a month we are going to up the dosage and see if it will help my
back pain but so far it has not. This is long but for all of us looking for
help and in whatever way your Dr. has you take it, it it great. Lois PS.
Tonight I am having trouble as I took my sister in law to the hospital and
walked many miles it seemed on those floors and was up there for about six
hours. So you can't do anything you want I guess. The pain is slowly letting up
as we have been home over an hour.
