Hi all
I'm Aimee from Canada. I am a nurse and while working I overworked
my shoulder 6 years ago. After 2 surgeries all I got was Myofascial
pain / fibromyalgia. Needless to say, I no longer can work.
About 2 years ago I noticed that my buttocks were feeling numb yet
painful. Almost like a chunk of frozen meat, if you can imagine what
that might feel like. Pins and needles and burning which was made
worse by sitting. Even when standing or walking I was in pain 24/7
in the butt and low back. I went to chiros, massage therapy,
myofascial release and active release and like that. Nothing helped
but in fact all of the above made the pain worse.
I was finally put on slow release morphine and gabapentin. I didn't
like either and don't use them and as yet I don't have a solid
diagnosis for this condition. Online when I entered "burning
buttocks"...... PN came up.
On Wednesday I go to a larger city to have an MRI which I will pay
for myself ($1500) but I need to know what is up with this! I used
to walk alot, do yoga and stretches..... but all of those things just
made it worse.
Funny thing however..... the last few days I am feeling better! go
figure eh? I am still going to go through with the MRI because if I
cancel..sure as hell it will surface again next month or week or
whatever. Can this just go away? I got a bee sting last week and
ever since that, I have slowly started feeling better! Isn't that
something?
I guess what I would like to know from some of you that have much
more knowledge about this is :
does it even sound like PN? does anyone else have this burning
problem?
I will not know the results of the MRI this week but I hope soon ,
and I will keep you all posted. Sorry if this got long winded.
I'm sure that I am leaving stuff out but I sort of got to the bottom
line :)
thanks for listening
Aimee
