My name is Carrol but I often go by "Sunny".
I have 5 adult children and 12 living grandchildren, two dogs and a
sunconure. I live in the country.
I was diagnosed with PN in 2002 after living with it and not knowing
what the problem is for two years prior. I've had multiple back
injuries and it was ASSUMED that was the source of my problem. My IM
doc didn't know how to treat effectively so I went to a Neuro. I was
put on Neurontin and have increased dosage to 1800 and may need to go
up from there.
Just the first of this month I was diagnosed with diabetes. Now I am
trying to adjust to the dietary requirements and trying to exercise
with all the pain we go through with our feet. They want me to walk
at least 5 days a week for a min of 30 min. HAH!!! Let them try it
with painful feet!!!
After not receiving enough info from medical profession, I decided to
research PN myself and to join support groups, None available locally
so have gone online for support.
My feet are sensitive to temperature changes and do not take very
warm water well. Hot tubs really set them off.
I welcome any suggestions for exercise. I need to lose about 80
pounds.
