Re: [Peripheral_Neuropathy] Hi I'm New to the group ---- help with arm, fingers pain

dear julie

i have had peripheral neuropathy for four years. i went to bed one night healthy, the next day i could not walk. i fell 19 times. my feet and legs were red and they hurt real bad. i went to the er and they told me i had foot drop on both feet, which means i cannot lift my feet up and down and when i walk i have to pick them up high off the ground to walk. well since i felt 19 time  they found out i had spinal problems in my lower back and because i weighted alot it was not safe to operate. then they told me i had peropheral neuropathy in both legs, which means i had nerve damage in my feet, ankles, and legs. i was put in a nursing home for three weeks. i could not walk when i went in. i worked very hard to get out of the nursing home. then after going to many doctors, i found out that peripheral neuropathy is not an illness, it is a  form of a illness. that means no one knows just what is wrong with you, in 2003 i got more nerve damage and spinal illness in my let side of my neck. my left arm is dead. i cannot feel my arm or hand. i could not even lift my arm. i was sick for 4 months. they sent me to pain mangement. they took some test of my nerves and they found the illness  i had. i have a rare painful illness called reflex sympthatic distaphre. i live on pain meds. my feet are swollen all the time. i can not move well, but i have people who vist me, which i am thankful for. i live day to day. so if you cannot feel your fingers or arms, have them do a nerve test to see if you have nerve damage or other nerve disorders.

Hi
I am new to the group my name is Julie.  I have joined this group because I have no idea what else to do if that makes since.  I am in so much pain.  It started when I was out of town, I had a death in my family.  Then I got home my daughter broke her tail bone and I was in the er all night long.  Then I came home really tired and fell asleep in the recliner.  Well when I woke up about 6 hours later my arm, finger, wrist was asleep and hurt bad.  It felt as thought it was three times bigger.  Since then it keeps getting worse.  I have taken all the over the counter pain meds, nothing works.  I finally went to the er and was told that I have peripheral neuropathy.  Is there anything I can do to make it better or anything I can get to take .......even something natural........Please help..................Julie

Welcome, Julie. I would suggest going to a good chiropractor to start with. Sometimes that helps. Next, I would see a good neurologist that specializes in...
