Hi All
I am in the process of doing the disability Thing. I am awaiting on my hearing having been denied twice EVEN though the Social Security Doctor they sent me to as well as my own Doctor say I am 100% Disabled due to Neuropathies. (I am the guy with 80% of his body affected)
Anyway is NO easy thing this application process. My application began a year last October so it takes a lot of time too.
Remember too that there is SSI (for those who never worked) and the SSDI for people like myself who paid into the system working their whole life. So know which you are eligible for. Its easy either you worked in your life or no. SSI if no SSDI if yes.
Neuropathy is listed in the "Blue Book" but it MUST affect your use of a limb times 2. So it must truly affect say both feet or both legs or two arms etc etc otherwise you are not eligible.
In my case both hands arms legs and feet are severely affected. I fall constantly due to neuropathy affecting my balance and coordination. I have autonomic type as well like I said 80% of me is affected by this damn disease.YET the bastards still denied me twice. My lawyer says as do many others that is just what "They" (Social Security Administration) do. Go figure yet another aspect of government NOT working. How surprised are you???
I know this it is a HORRIBLE system that has caused applicants to lose their homes..in my case my car was repossessed last Spring I had nothing left to pay them with) I own my house so that for now is safe though my taxes just came due and I still have not had a hearing no received my money. And I can't afford my house insurance currently either. The system is abusive and SUCKS!
