hi,  this julianne.  i used SSLG, social security law group. it cost $5300 but mine got approved the 1st time.  some things to make sure:  have your dr(s) write very clear notes.  also note ANY other probs:  depression, arthistis, back probs, memory probs etc.  again make sure these have all been noted in your records. any tests that have been performed.  xrays, emg, spinal taps. 
when i first was going to file i bought a book by a guy who used to work for ssdi.  this was supposed to be an easy to understand book.  it still was over my head.
