1) How many Parish or Congregational Programs that are administered
out of a local congregation are HIPAA compliant?
a) Is there a need to be?
Our network has a policy regarding HIPAA compliance. We had to stop keeping
paper records with members names included. Example - B/P screening records.
Need? I didn't feel they had to force that on us. We all know how to keep
confidential records.
2) How many programs have computerized systems or are utilizing
electronic health records (ehr)?
a) If you are are you using a commercial program or have you
developed our own?
We are set up on a network where we can enter our own data. For those who are
not computer users, they can send their paperwork in to one of the
coordinators and their data will be entered into the computer.
3) Do you have an IT person to manage your "system" or do you do the
work yourself?
