RE: [ParishNurse] Monday July 2nd, 2007

I only know the answer to the first question. If you do not receive
federal reimbursement you do not have to comply with the HIPAA laws.
That does not mean that you should neglect confidentiality but you don't
need all the paper work.

Well, I have some more questions to throw out to everyone. Hopefully
there will be some response. I hope everyone will have a safe and
fun 4th of July.

1) How many Parish or Congregational Programs that are administered
out of a local congregation are HIPAA compliant?
a) Is there a need to be?

2) How many programs have computerized systems or are utilizing
electronic health records (ehr)?
a) If you are are you using a commercial program or have you
developed our own?

3) Do you have an IT person to manage your "system" or do you do the
work yourself?

Thanks for your responses!

Leadership Secrets of Jesus
Service
by Mac Hammond

"I came to serve, not to be served." That was the bluntly profound
declaration Jesus made to His disciples one day. Here we have the
greatest man who ever lived, God's own Son, proclaiming the essence
of His leadership style. He led by serving.

When His team got hungry for status and power, He corrected them by
saying, "He who would be the greatest among you must be the servant
of all." The greatest leaders pursue the welfare of those they are
called to lead. My question for you is, "Are you more interested in
serving or in being served?"
