Mary Ann,
I noticed in your email response to Joyce that you mentioned your Parish
Nurse group meeting 4 times a year...educational programs... lunch...
Is there any additional information you can share about how that group
functions, the kind of educational meetings that have been helpful,
etc. I recently served as a consultant/speaker for a group of
clergy/congregations/Parish Nurses and they are at a point, several
years into their ministries, and could benefit from such a structure.
I have observed that after a cluster of nurses have gone through a PN
training program and have been involved in the ministry for a year or 2,
they need a realistic structure for support, ongoing ideas, etc. By then
they have had varying degrees of "success" instituting Health Ministries
in their congregations.
Also, have you found it possible or helpful to include others involved
in the ministry in the quarterly meetings, e.g. pastors or others on the
Health Ministries team?
I appreciate whatever you can share from your experience.
